Another great Series By Susan Mallery. This is the first in a series of 4 books. Great story about the oldest of 3 sisters who live in a Texas town that carries their family name. They are NOT however, a bunch of rich girls living off of daddy. Lexi Titan is trying to keep her spa business open after a loan she has is called. She makes a deal with a guy who she met and slept with 10 years earlier in order to save her business. Cruz wants Lexi for her connections into society. He helps her pay off her loan and in payment she must pretend to be engaged to him for 6 months. Cruz promises to help her find out who would give her a loan and then call it on her just to be cruel. She and her sisters are in for quite a few suprises when the jerk is revealed. Garth is out to destroy the sisters and now that they have a name they must figure out why... But while she is waiting to unravel that mystery she and Cruz must play house and convince everyone around that they are on their way to forever. During that time they fall in lust and then in love.... Great story - can't wait for the rest!!!

Under Her Skin is the first book in Susan Mallery's Titan Series. Lexi Titan owns her own day successful day spa. Unfortunately for her, the lender of her loan is calling it in and she has three weeks to come up with two million dollars. In walks Cruz Rodriguez with a proposition that will benefit both of them. They both agree to to a fake engagement for the next six months. He will give Lexi the two million she needs and she will introduce him to all her family connections that will give Cruz the 'in' he needs into high society. Cruz and Lexi have a past history and both are determined to guard their hearts, as this is only a business deal. Bet you can't guess where this leads!
Here is another classic case of me getting my hopes up for one thing and the book delivering something different. I was expecting more romance, and while it was there, sometimes Lexi and Cruz's relationship felt overshadowed by Lexi's problems with her family. Much of the plot of this book revolved more around Lexi's interaction with her sisters and her mysterious lender, than with Cruz.
Lexi quite clearly has daddy issues. Jed Titan is the type of man who is incapable of showing affection or love to anyone. Lexi all her life has been desperately trying to win his love, by being a successful business woman. When she starts falling in love with Cruz she panics. This is because she sees he shares similar qualities with her father. Knowing she has never had her fathers love, she believes she won't ever have Cruz's either. So there is a lot of denial between Cruz and Lexi, which brings a lot of angst to the table. However, I felt there was something missing. Maybe it was that the romance with Cruz felt more secondary in comparison Lexi's problems with her family and her spa.
The relationship between Lexi and her sisters Sky and Izzy is complex. Lexi and Skye are in direct competition for the inheritance, because Jed won't choose who will get it. He wants them to constantly be proving they deserve it. Really, Jed is a complete ass in this book. I liked the interaction between Lexi and her sisters. Despite their father, they do get along for the most part.
Susan Mallery has back to back books coming out from this series. In June Skye's story Lip Service will be released and then Izzy's story, Straight from the Hip in July.

I enjoyed this book and the other 2 in the series. Waiting for #4. I will have to say I agree with Jilld that Jed is an ass and continues to be an ass throughout the whole series. Each of the women obviously have daddy issues. There are some complex sister issues going on also. Don't have any sisters so I can't really relate to that. But I did like all 3 books and looking forward to the last one.
I like how this book continues in book 2, 3 and 4
Good story line
But it does help to read them in order.

Great start to the series. Cant wait for the second.
This enjoyed this book. This book along with the others that are in the series are wonderful reads!!!!
OMG....Thank god I listened to all the reviews I read on this author. I am especially happy to have started with this series because I love it and can not wait to read the rest of the sisters stories. I started reading it last night and didn't stop till I finished.... I was very pleased with the way the author eases you into having you take an interest into the other sisters without giving too much away. It gives you alot to look forward to when you read the next book. I love Susan Elizabeth Philips, Rachel Gibson, Jill Mansey and now I am happy to add Susan Mallery to my list of favorites. Let's hope that Mitch is as hunky as Cruz!!!Happy reading to you all.
This wasn't my favorite of Mallery's books. There wasn't her usual humor. The storyline was typical and completely predicable, but there is just something fun reading about people falling in love!
This was a great book. I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

I didn't like this story at all. Cruz Rodriguez is a social-climbing asshole whose only using Lexi to get into her circle of friends. Poor Lexi was devastated after their one-night stand ten years previously and reluctantly agreed to his scheme because she desperately needed the money offered. Her father, the bazillionaire, is a controlling freak who doesn't love his three daughters and pits them against one another for their inheritance. All in all, a rather depressing story. I have the other two in the series and can't decide whether to venture into this family again.
So glad I returned to Susan Mallery!! Great storyline that reels you in and keeps you guessing till the end! LOVED IT !! Off to buy the next in the series!!
What a great book! I loved the chemistry that Cruz and Lexi have. I started the next one right away. Love Susan Mallery!!
Great start to what is obviously going to be a fun series.
Wow! What a disappointment. After reading so many other glowing comments about this author and series I was anxious to read Under Her Skin. Would not recommend...characters are developed only surface deep, ending is predictable from chapter one, I didn't find myself really invested in the story or the characters, the sexual energy between Lexi and Cruz is immediate due to a past they share, but there was no build up to the big moment that I find enjoyable. It is clear where they are headed from the very beginning. Will not continue the series, I honestly don't care what happens to the Titans beyond this book.

I have finished this book in only 2 days. I liked everything about it. There was just enough intrigue to keep me interested, and wanting to by the next book in this series.
This author is one of my favorites. You can always count on a good light humor
and a satisfying read.
and a satisfying read.
A very interesting story and, though I read it more for fun and romance/escape, I did learn a lot from all the things going on in the story. I loved the description of places, people and history of both. I will definitely be reading Book 2 as soon as I can get it.

This series about three sisters and their best friend is fun and interesting. I particularly like this one as it sets up the backstory of the whole series. I particularly was tickled with the story about Cruz and Lexi raising for pinks. Good book and makes you ready for the next book in the series.
