I had just about quit reading this author because her recent books read like she was just going thru the motions but this one is very much like her earlier books. It is suspenseful and it is an entertaining read.

very slow and very boring--
Maybe the idea of the storyline was okay but it just didn't grab me at all, it starts with the murder of a Dr. then it switches to the reunion for a tv show for a murder from over 20 yrs ago, too many characters and not a one you will care about. It moves so slow that I tried to skip to get to a good interesting part but it took over 100 pages before anything worth happening came up--oh well I gave up, I haven't read a Mary Higgins Clark for years and thought I'd try her again---wrong! won't try her again, her books are like Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele---all the same just change the name and place

This mystery reminded me of one of the old time mysteries where the suspects are all held in the house and one by one they are interviewed. The difference here is the murder is in the past and no one was prosecuted. One of the characters proposes a new TV series where they investigate cold cases. They get permission from the husband of the murdered woman to tape on the property. They contact each of the suspects who were at a graduation party and stayed over that night and offer them a nice bit of money to do the program and answer questions about that night. In the process many new motives come out and other information. Meanwhile, the TV woman is in danger from the man who killed her husband, He is out to kill her and her son and gets a job working on the property while the show is being taped. Good story.

Typical murder mystery with relatively large cast of possible perpetrators, each one of them having a âgoodâ reason for committing a murder. Yawn! And sheesh! I realize this book is part of the âUnder Suspicionâ series, But frankly hearing those two words repeated in every single chapter got a little old.

Because her husband was murdered and the killer never caught. Laurie Moran is producing a cold-case TV program.
First up is a murder that took place 20 years ago and was never solved. At the center of the case are 4 women, who were college girls back then and they all had a reason to want the murdered woman dead.
Meanwhile the man who killed Laurie's husband is stalking her ..just waiting for a chance to kill her and her young son.
This is a typical MHC book ... full of suspense with unforgettable characters. The ending doesn't always come as a surprise .. but this one did.
Short chapters, no wasted descriptions ... a very satisfying read.

As usual, MHC weaves a tale of suspense that is easy to read and hard to put down. Thoroughly enjoyable non stop reading!
