This book had me enthralled from page one to the very end. It brought out a lot of emotion in me in so many ways.
The book is a true story from the author and her life in growing up in a funeral home and having an undertaker as a dad. There were so many elements about the past with desegregation, prejudice as well.
The book was a birds eye view into bodies being received, prepared and displayed for each family who choose their particular funeral home. I learned quite a bit. I cried, I laughed and I loved this book!

This book started out very interesting, but somewhere around the halfway point I started to get frustrated and lost interest the story.... there were so many characters to keep track of and the timeline seemed very "jumpy".... I often couldn't figure out what year, decade, etc. this was happening.
