Typically addictive Sophie Kinsella! This one did have a little twist though. She's not a shopaholic, she's a housekeeper. Very cute. I took it on vacation with me and the 4 hour plane ride FLEW by! I definitely recommend this if you are a Kinsella fan or just a fan of chic lit.

When my best friend talked about this book to me she said something like "I can't believe how many times she messed up and miraculously didn't get caught!" which summarizes this book pretty well. Samantha Sweeting has a genius IQ and works at a very demanding law firm. She is under a lot of stress but is good at her job, until one day she finds a security document on her desk that she somehow forgot to file. Panicked, Samantha cracks and flees the city, and ends up in front of a big house. She intends to ask for water and directions, but gets mistaken for a housekeeper candidate and is hired on the spot. Samantha knows NOTHING about housework, but wants to lie low after the uproar at her firm, and madness ensues as she messes up everything she tries and then runs around hiding the evidence. As usual Kinsella also introduces a romance to the story. Cute, funny read, though I did feel a little stressed out by her situation at her law firm.

Sophie Kinsella's books have been my guilty pleasure for years now. Whenever you want to read something light-hearted, fun, and engaging enough that you don't want to put it down, pick up one of her books. You're guaranteed to have a great time following the antics and mis-adventures of her latest heroine.

Very easy read, so this was perfect for me right now. I have to say I admire the main character. I sometimes wanna just chuck it all and go hide somewhere - mistake or no mistake! This would be a great beach read or something you need to read when you don't want to have to pay rapt attention to it. Worth a read, but nothing too deep :)
Helpful Score: 5
I just finished this book, and I really enjoyed it more than her other books. The main character was easy to relate to and she just does some funny things. There were several points in the book where I was laughing out loud and my husband asked me what was so funny. The plot is somewhat predictable, as I figured it out about halfway through the book, but I still wanted to keep reading to figure out how the character would handle it. It kept me entertained.
Helpful Score: 4
If you are a girl born without the "housewife" genes, this is the book for you. Even if you are a great housewife, you'll enjoy this book because you can giggle at the main character's hilarious attempts to figure out what the heck she's doing, how she got where she is now, and how she's going to get out. A light, entertaining read.

I think it's supposed to be funny, but I started out not liking this book at all. First, I prefer my fiction to be in the 3rd person, past tense. This is both present tense and first person, which made the bad treatment she was getting more personal. Her job, for instance, expecting long hours, without even weekends off. And there's her workaholic mother and brother, who are supposed to meet her for her birthday dinner, and both of them stand her up. Her brother's secretary delivers her present: soap. She's sitting there, alone, being sung to by waiters, her family represented by two cell phones. The waiter leaves the drinks beside the phones. Funny, but pathetic. Then there's a disaster at work, and she loses it and runs. I was halfway through the book before I started to enjoy it.

Another excellent story from Sophie Kinsella. So far I loved every book she has written. Once into it I found it just as good as her shopaholic series. Highly recommend for a fast, light enjoyable read.

Sohie Kinsella has done it again with a totally clueless herione. I love her books and can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I recommend this book for summer vacation reading.
Helpful Score: 3
This is so much better than her last few shopoholic books...You connect with Sam and root for her....loved it; great chick lit!
Helpful Score: 3
This book was fantastic! I love Samantha! She is absolutely hilarious! I love her quirky personality, and I really related to the trials she was put through - I felt stressed when she was stressed, embarrassed when she was embarrassed and I loved when she loved! Could NOT put this one down for long -- definitely a home run from Kinsella.

This book was an appropriate choice for my book club's "light book" month. A light read; feel-good, and comical at times, this was an enjoyable read. For a brief moment, there was almost too much back-and-forth indecisiveness from the main character, but it was then resolved. This is a book I could read again, and I will look for more by this author.
Helpful Score: 2
This book made me laugh out loud several times. It is *not* nearly as good (not as comical, flowing, believable) as the Shopaholic series. I still recommend it, however, as Kinsella is an exceptional writer and her books are great light reads at any time.

This was a fun stay-in-bed and read over the weekend kind of book.

Cute love story about a lawyer who rejects her fast paced life to become a maid - great, easy read.

This is probably my favorite Kinsella book! I enjoyed it even more than the Shopaholic series - probably because I identified with Samantha a little too much! And I learned what "blanching" meant as well!
Helpful Score: 2
Good book. Easy read. In line with what you would expect from Kinsella.

Another fun Kinsella book. This one moved a little slow at the beginning, but in the end it was just as fun as the Shopaholic series.

This book was very easy to read and hard to put down. I love all the Sophie Kinsella books - they are very funny and great for a beach or leisure vacation.

I couldn't stop reading this one. I had about 20 pages to go and also had to get some sleep but I kept on reading! Though this book is good for the 20-something crowd and I am in my late 30's, I still enjoyed this book. I'm going to start the Shopaholic series next.

LOVED this book. Suspend reality and dive in. Fun, funny, creative and surprising twists and turns. Quick read and hard to put down!

Very unrealistic plot line...not half as good as Kinsella's other books...

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sophie Kinsella at her best. It's an interesting story with a few unexpected twists & turns and plenty of British ChickLit humor :-)
Helpful Score: 1
If you enjoy British Chick Lit (Jemina J & Bridget Jones), then you will enjoy this quick, light story about an over-the-top workaholic attorney who hits rock bottom in her career and finds a new one as a housekeeper. A little farcical, but I enjoyed it.

Sophie Kinsella is at her best. You'll cheer for the heroine Samantha as she makes her transition from workaholic corporate lawyer to a housekeeper who learns that ironing might be more difficult than being a high-powered attorney. Complete with a tangled love story!

I think this author takes totally impossible what-ifs and writes a complete story. what a great imagination and what fun. take a highly driven professional with no time for a life and throw her into the countryside.

I was not sure I would like this book but I found it to be so entertaining. It is a chicklit book for sure but really a fantastic pool side read.

I was looking for some fluff, something with a sense of humor. This wasn't it. The book blurb makes it sound like fun. The cutesy-cover makes it look like fun. The tone of the writing make it sound like fun. I found no fun.
I listened to 75 minutes of the 6.5 hour CD version of the book; during that time I didn't find a character that I was remotely interested in, nor did I ever crack a smile (even an inward one). Seriously, if you're supposed to be clever, funny, or even mildly witty, don't you think you ought to put some of that stuff in the first 20% of the book?
I'm sure someone out there thinks this writer's stuff is hilarious. Wow, I SO did not. ::yawn::

I normally don't read chick lit, but I've read some of Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic books so I decided to give this book a go. It was good! It's much better than the books in Kinsella's Shopholic series. For some reason, the main character in Shopaholic series annoyed me with how shallow and ditzy she was. The heroine in this story is the opposite. She's an extremely bright lawyer at a top law firm in London. Her mini-breakdown after an incident at work leads her to work in secret as a housekeeper to a nouveau riche couple. Throw in a very handsome gardener, some crazy situations, and misunderstanding and you have a great chick lit book. This is not War and Peace, but it's entertaining and fun.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It had me yelling out loud at the characters on the page - that's how believable they seemed to me! The cold career girl who came undone - got redone - came undone again! Read it-you'll like it!

Not quite up to the snuff of the famous "Shopaholic" series, The Undomestic Goddess still brings good laughs and fun to the table. It was an enjoyable read but I still think I prefer Can You Keep a Secret or the Shopaholic series to this novel.

British chick-lit, light and airy, but hilarious. Story of a career woman who has no domestic skills to speak of winding up as a housekeeper outside of London. Kinsella is never incredibly deep, but her characters always amuse.

I am not a fan of Sophie Kinsella's books due to the way she writes her female characters. They always find themselves in difficult situations due to misunderstandings that would be easily cleared up if they simply spoke up and said what they meant to say; of course, if they did this, her books would be about 5 pages long, since the entire premise of her books rides on misunderstandings. Her female characters are always needing a man to rescue them from the mess they find themselves in; not a fan.

I thought this book was great! It teaches you about what is really important in life (career or happiness) and at the same time it is very funny.

Who hasn't dreamed of just walking out the door of the office and never coming back? LOL This is a funny, heartwarming story of a gal who does just that and finds the other side of life pretty comfy. A funny great pacted storyline that will make you happy!

I don't know whether 'chick lit' is still in vogue, but this one is lots of fun and a good evening's read about a workaholic attorney who tries her hand at domesticity.

I really enjoyed this book! It is a lighthearted story that doesn't flow as predictably as most. It made me want to read more from this author!

I picked this book up in the airport, having no idea that it would be such an entertaining read! All about a high-powered female attorney who ends up accepting a job as a housekeeper. This book is hilarious, well written, and a great read.

LOVED this book! A slightly more grown up version of Kinsella's fun shopaholic books. =)
Helpful Score: 1
This book is really cute. It almost has the feel of the Shopaholic novels to it. It is someone that keeps finding their way into an unending mountain of messes. If you have ever held a job of high power and high stress in the corporate world, there are times that you have probably felt that you would want to relate to the main character. Overall, it is a good escape, and you get enthralled and a good laugh out of someone elses problems.
Helpful Score: 1
I have loved the shopaholic series, but I feel that this book by Kinsella fell short. I just couldn't get into it. The main character's position from lawyer to maid was utterly unbelievable and the attempt at a love story with the gardener just fell flat and not what I longed for in the loveable heroine.
Helpful Score: 1
I absolutely loved this book. Ok, a lot of it is unrealistic, but it's a great SUMMER BEACH, mindless read. I can SO see Kate Hudson and Matthew McConneghey in these roles..or even Linday Lohan...just too cute...I can't wait until it's a movie!

It was refreshing to read a SK book about a woman with an actual head on her shoulders. There was more gratuitous language than I like in a Chick Lit book, but overall it was a fun and quick read.

If you like the breezy approach of such books as Bridget Jones' Diary, this will appeal to you also.
Samantha is a corporate lawyer, working hard for the chance of becoming partner at a top London firm. She feels great pressure to be perfect and productive, feeling it's a waste of time to allocate any time for herself. She's not quite sure what she wants in life - she's always been pressured by her successful mother to make it to the top of the heap lawyer-wise, but hasn't ever thought beyond that. What she does know is that the only thing that will get her any respect from her colleagues and parent is to work work work and then work some more, all very chipper and efficient and without any failing.
She is within a stroke of making partner when something goes desperately, incomprehensibly and inexcusably awry. Shaken, she rushes out of her law firm's offices, and staggers onto the first train, desperately running through various mental scenarios trying to make sense of things, little noticing or caring where she is going while her mental gears turn.
Through an odd turn of events, she is mistaken for a housekeeper applicant at a private residence and decides to drift with the situation while she gets her thoughts and emotions together. She has, however, neglected to take into account that she knows nothing about cleaning or cooking, but her inner perfectionist demands that she find ways to cover up her lack of skills. In the process, she begins to notice some of the simple pleasures around her, and develops a crush on the gardener, who is suspicious of her.
The book is very humorous. Samantha is smart and snappy, despite being lost and without bearings, and her rue at her lack of emotional center is very human and heart-warming. The book deals with her conflict over the importance of relationships, the definition of success, and knowing what pleases yourself versus what pleases those around you. The maeuvers she uses to try to pass as a domestic servant are quite funny, especially as she never has a "this is beneath me" attitude - rather, she is overwhelmed by the situation but, being Samantha, she *must* do it all and do it all seamlessly. Well, she wishes, anyhow.
Good read for a summer afternoon. Moves along quickly, not overly involved, but still very entertaining.

I think this is Sophie Kinsella's best book yet. Samantha gets herself stuck in funny situations that teach her how to slow down and enjoy life. This is a fun read and a great story.
This book was a light read that I absolutely loved. Most of it was light and enjoyable to read - then towards the end I couldn't put it down. I thought I knew the ending all along - which I did...but there were so many twists and turns and "NO, don't do THAT" moments along the way.
Nicely written feel good story!

This is a great book. Super easy to read and FUN! I couldn't put it down. Would be perfect for as a gift to a girl friend that loves to read.
Hilarious! A great, fun read.
Fun, but not as good as her other books.
This book was really good, it is the one that got me hooked on this author.
Samantha Sweeting, an ambitious lawyer on the fast track to becoming a partner at her prestigious law firm, is horrified to discover an overlooked memo on her desk that ends up costing a client 50 million pounds. In a daze, Samantha hops a train and finds herself in the country. She walks up to the first house she sees and knocks on the door, intending to inquire about the nearest hotel, but Trish Geiger mistakes her for the new housekeeper. Still in shock, Samantha decides to go along with Trish and her husband, Eddie's, mistake, despite the fact that she has no domestic skills. Happily, she is aided by the handsome gardener, Nathaniel. He helps her forget about her London law firm, until she makes a startling discovery.
This is an excellent book. Some of the situations Samantha got herself into were hillarious!
Very fun, very quick read. You can really picture this being made into a light-hearted movie. I enjoyed the first two Shopaholic books a lot (this is not in that series), but I liked this one even more.
Another excellent book by Kinsella!! Book that I just couldn't put down! Highly recommend this one if you like her other books!
A Sophie Kinsella book like most others. An easy read and perfect for a night in or poolside.
Witty, a great read!
This is definitely one of my favorite's from kinsella. It was a little different than she's usually known for but it was a great read. I absolutely love this author and genre. If you like fun reading but without all the vivid adult scenes then, you ought to look at Kinsella, Wickham, and Jill Mansell to name a few!
I was disappointed by this book from Ms Kinsella... having read the shopaholic books I was expecting a book I would be riveted by from first page to last, but instead I felt it was a slightly lower quality of storyline that waffled around too much. Overall a good book, but not one I'm as attached to the characters in as I was with the shopaholic books.
Not the typical romance novel I read. However, it was an easy read and fun when waiting for the plane!
Such a fun, fast read. A great summer book...
Starts slow and unexciting, but warms up to a very sweet story. Lighthearted and fun.
What a cute story!
This is about a young woman who looses her job- and freaks out. She takes a train to the country and goes up to a house, and they think she is the maid.
The story gets really fun and the pages read by very quickly.

Great beach read, finished it in about 4 hours.
I love all of Sophie Kinsella's books. This book is a lot of fun to read.
Funny. great chick lit read
AN AH-MAZING BOOK~~!!!!! BEST BOOK BY SOPHIE!!! A MUST READ!!!
A riot!!! Another great book by Sophie Kinsella. Actually, I think this was my favorite so far.
Another great book from Sophie Kinsella.
I love Sophie Kinsella and I truly loved this book. It did start off a bit slow, well not slow, but it took me awhile to really reel me in good. I like to read a book and NOT want to put it down. I have ADD and that's the way I judge if a book is good if I can sit for hours without losing my patience! Other than it taking me a lil' longer then usual to get wrapped by the story it was really delightful. The romance is a bit typical, but it's hard to find good books that have some romance without all the XXX action going on! That's what I love about Kinsella and Jill Mansell. BTW there is no XXX stuff in here, I just reread what I wrote and thought it might be misconstrued! It's a definite must read for chick lit luvers everywhere :)
This was a cute story. I really enjoyed the book. Maybe a bit too descriptive in parts - somethings should remain sacred . . . but a really fun read.
Great book, couldn't put it down.
Kinsella delivers another book with lots of LOL moments but also a lot of social commentary that is really on the money. Not as romantic, IMO, as the shopaholic books, but still delivers romance in the end. The story was interesting, although the situation seemed a bit unbelievable, but the book is a fun and worthy read.
A great chick-lit read!
Sophie is at her best in this book....I laughed my way through it and can hardly wait to read another by her....I so relate to her! Great read for all!
I have enjoyed all of the Sophie Kinsella books. I also like to listen to them on cd because I love the accent of the reader.
While the book has some absolute hilarious moments and a good romance story involved, the whole concept of an attorney going down to a maid was a bit far fetched. If you want a humorous light read, this is a decent book. Not one I kept but worth the time to read.
I found this book witty, entertaining, and a quick read!
This book was fantastic! The author keeps your attention throughout and is quite funny at times. Highly recommended! The audio book narrator is great as well.
What a complete life change. I loved this book.
Hilarious comedy of errors.
Sophie Kinsella never disappoints me!
So funny. First book of this author's that i have read and i am ready to read more...
Quick funny read, typical Sophie Kinsella.
Another fun book from one of my favorite authors!
Excellent book!! If you like Sophie Kinsella, you will love this book!!
Good chicklit book, nice break from the reality of the world these days.
A very sweet book. A quick and easy read that pulls you right in.
I loved this book! I read it on vacation and couldn't put it down! It was sad, funny, and wonderful. This is on the top of my list from my summer reading.
Another funny good read with lots of laughs by Sophie..
I could not put this book down. It is truely a must read.
Great Book! Totally Kinsella. Its a quick read and a touching story of a woman's personal transformation.
Loved it!
Sophie Kinsella's books are always quick reads. You will enjoy how the main character, Samantha, goes a little crazy and exchanges her career as a high powered attorney for a more laid back life as a maid. Unfortunately she doesn't know how to cook or clean! What's one little fib?
Fun, light read! I enjoyed the characters in this book.
Sophie Kinsella is great, again!
fun book to read.
This book is so funny, yet so poignant. You really feel for this poor girl. You can really identify with her. Glad it had a happy ending.
Wonderful, splendid, and hysterical.
It was a fun read. Enjoyable but with enough plot to keep you coming back to see what the next turn of the page will bring.
A little slow in the beginning but a great end. I couldn't put it down in the end. Really gives you something to think about.
Another great book by Kinsella.
Another great book by Sophie Kinsella! Loved it!
I love everything Sophie Kinsella puts a pen to and this was no exception!
Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into a meltdown, she walked our of her London office, gets on a train and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a manor, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Of course, she is totally undomestic!!!! How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope--and finds love--is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake. But will her old life ever catch up with her? And it it does...will she want it back?
This is another great book by Sophia. You will be in stiches.
lots of fun! Can't wait to read the rest of her books!
Another terrific read from Kinsella! She just keeps getting better and better! She's DEFINITELY the queen of Brit-Chick Lit!
Samantha has been groomed to be a high powered London lawyer since childhood. She has the reputation of perfection, but when she makes one mistake (admittedly, a $50 million mistake), she runs away from all that and takes an anonymous job as a housekeeper in the Cotswolds. Besides learning how to do the laundry, she also learns that life is meant to take time...and so does love.
Fast and fun...great weekend relaxing read!
This is a funny book about a highly stressed lawyer who makes a mistake and applies to be a housekeeper although she can't cook and knows nothing about housekeeping.
Light, fun, quick read. If you've read any of Kinsella's "Shopaholic" books than you will enjoy this new character attorney Samantha Sweeting.
This is a books where you say to yourself, "one more chapter and I'll go to bed"..... "well, maybe just one more".
A good read. The Shop-a-holic series still own my heart.
It wasn't my favorite book. I thought it would be interesting and cheerful. It was cheerful, but it wasn't something that took my breath away.
As awesome as all of her other books!
Very funny, terrific book.
Loved it! This book had a nice mix of humor and tender moments.
Hilarious quick read. Highly recommended.
Another great book by Sophie Kinsella.
A great read. Very fun. The main character has a big business melt down and decides to take a job as a maid. Has a real comedy of errors feel as she tries to do her new job, and ends up finding herself and the true meaning of happiness.
Another entertaining book by Sophia Kinsella. This is one of my favorite Kinsella books.
A fun read, my book club met tonight and we all enjoyed it.
A story about a life that just went downhill. A huge lawyer makes a BIG mistake and it costs her company millions of dollars and so she goes on the run. A lively story of her travels and what her BIG mistake was.
This was a very enjoyable and fast read. It pulled me in from the very fast pages and kept me wanting to read more and more...
Loved this book - it's very funny!
Could not put this book down. It was marvelous! I love everything she's written.
This is the second book I've read by this author. I loved the first one and I loved this one too. The characters were perfect and I loved their expressions. I was thoroughly entertained by this story of a top notch lawyer who loses her job over one mistake and finds herself suddenly working as a house maid, cleaning and cooking, none of which she has ever done. And yet she survives and makes things go right and finds a way of life she has never known before. I found the story entertaining, delightful, and hard to put down.
Funny, charming very likeable heroine....bonus points because this one is smart too! Great fun read!
Very cute!!!!
A really fun read. I could not put it down.
Great read. Loved the characters in this book. As good as her others. . .
Really enjoyed this easy read!
Loved this book! It is absolutely hilarious!
Kinsella is a little too formulaic for my tastes. It's an easy read, though.
This is the first book I read by this author. I will definately read the other books she written. Really loved the book.
This is a great book. Workaholic attorney gives up all for country retreat and handsome gardener/ pub owner.
I thought this book was delightful. The story was executed very well and I found it very easy to relate to the main character in the story. I bought and read this book all within a week!!! It was fascinating!
Cute, Funny! Fast read! Really enjoyable!
Great book.
Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so large, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership.
Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house. she is mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered the job of a housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they have hired an attorney, and Samantha has no idea how to turn on the stove. She can't sew on a button, bake a potato, or to get the #@%# ironing board to open.
A truly delightful, funny, sweet book.

This is a good summer read. Fun, but not deep.
I enjoy Kinsella's writing because it's light and fluffy and a nice break from heavier fare that I read with my bookclub.
Main character Samantha Sweeting is loveable and fraught with imperfections; an everyday heroine.

good book. quick read
This is a great book! Very funny and moving.
Totally enjoyed this book!
Funny and entertaining. A workaholic lawyer has a sudden change in her life that takes her through a whirlwind of learning experiences and love. I liked it.
I thought this book was very lighthearted. It was very good.
Absolutely wonderful storyline! Loved it!
I love ANYTHING by Sophie Kinsella!
Very cute, funny story
From the author of shopaholic, again, fun, fun and more fun.
A good read.
One of her best - It brings out the real life associated with the corporate world. This is the book you won't want to put down.
Very funny, lighthearted, quick read.
Really a funny, entertaining and energetic story. I really enjoyed it, we all have experiences in our lives, some are life changing; as in this story. Cute!
Sophie Kinsella makes me laugh and smile. Set in England, you'll enjoy Samantha as she steps into a new career, that she didn't expect and falls in love. Delicious.
A light, enjoyable read. The book is humourous and romantic, with just enough twists to keep the reader engaged to the end.
Loved It/....... light read can almost read in a day or 2. Some things seem a little unrealistic but just put aside your literal technicality hats and enjoy the fun.
GREAT BOOK
GREAT BOOK
Sophie is a great author... I love all of her books. this was a great read.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK!! A city girl who works way to much realizes she has just made the biggest work mistake of her life and could loose her job. She panics and gets on a train with nothing but her purse and Blackberry and literally leaves everything behind. She finds a job pretending to be somebody she's not and has no clue what she is doing! But along the way she finds out that there is more to life than work and she discovers what is truly important.
I laughed the whole time!! And when I wasn't laughing I couldn't stop smiling! This was my first book by Sophie Kinsella and it is definitely not my last. She grabbed my attention at the very beginning and had it until the very end! Easy to read. And I loved the British lingo!!

I thought this book was well-written and very entertaining. It was a quick, humorous read that kept me up to finish it. I much rather enjoyed the character Samantha Sweeting, than to Becky Bloomwood from the Shopaholic series. This is one of Kinsella's finer books.
Another bit of the great writing style of Kinsella. Samantha is a young, high-powered lawyer with one of the top law firms in England. About to make partner, she realizes she has made a horrendous mistake, one that costs her what she has sacrificed a social life and worked endless hours to achieve. Humiliated and lost, she walks out of her London office and wanders onto a train that takes her to middle of nowhere. Looking for the hospitality of a stranger, she walks up to the door of a beautiful estate and is mistaken for a applicant to a housekeeping position. As a whirlwind ensues, she finds herself hired and at a loss at how to do anything domestic. That's when she finds the kindness of strangers, potential love and a world unlike she'd known and they have no idea who she really is. Well done book. A quick read you just can't put down.
An easy read, this book is funny and entertaining. I've read it several times, and it never gets old.
This is my second book by Sophie Kinsella and I absolutely loved it! I flew through it and never wanted to put it down. Rarely does this happen to me, so I was really pleased! The heroine is a smart gal who gets herself into a bit of a mess. I absolutely love the leading man and rooted for them to get together from the beginning. If you love chick lit, you'll love this book!
I want a sequel!
I want a sequel!
This was a real surprise. It is literally laugh out loud funny and has a really good twist to the storyline. Its a mystery wrapped up in a comedy. The premise, without giving to much away, is that a city woman, who typically has all her household duties done for her, is thrust into of a housekeeper/cook role (in disguise of course.) And while she is desperately trying to figure out what exactly 'dusting' (and many other chores) entail, she's also trying to figure out what exactly caused the calamity she left behind.
Sophir Kinsella is a hoot. The hero of the tale is a brilliant lawyer who thinks she made a grave mistake and cost her law firm millions of dollars. She gets on a train and goes to the end of the line. She is somehow mistaken as a job applicant for housekeeper and the fun begins.
Enter a cast of characters that will amuse you long after you've finished the book.
If you enjoy a good story that entertains, then you'll enjoy this one.

Funny, and crazy, just a light read for the summer!
Wonderful light-reading book!
not good use of launguage for teens
This story started off a little slow, but once I was familiar with the characters and their situations I was intrigued and interested in learning more. Some situations are a little slap-stick but otherwise it was an overall fun read. I wish the ending provided a little more to the story 3-6 months down the line, although it ended well enough to let the reader imagine what happens after the credits.
A current New York Times Bestseller.......and it is easy to understand why. This extremely fun book reads well and moves fast. Going from a prominent attorney to an unknown housekeeper, with no domestic skills, feeds this story to a very satisfying climax.
LOVED this - another gem by Sophie Kinsealla!
I was looking for something different and this was perfect! The book is very light reading, very funny and enjoyable! The main character gets herself into some wonderfully strange, funny situations!
Another fabulously written book by Sophie Kinsella! I laughed out loud, wiped away a tear or two, and felt as though I new every character in the book personally. If you've ever found yourself doing something you never thought you'd do, in a place you never expected to be, in a situation that seemed as though all hope was lost, this is the book for you. While entertaining this book offers, what I call "God's little nuggets", to help us get through situation we face in our own life. This is definitely a book that as you read the last page you're a little saddened that it's over!
A workaholic leaves her professional life and accidentally becomes a housekeeper. The problem is she knows nothing about being a housekeeper. She finds herself in some terrible messes. A cute and funny book.
this is laugh until your tummy hurts kinda book. loved it!
Humorous, light read. Very much enjoyed it.
It's a cute book and I'm sure many people who read it (especially lawyers) will be able to relate.
I found this book very entertaining. A pretty easy read but with great characters and an interesting plot.
Very good quick read. Funny.
Funny, quick read. Good book. :)

This is a great chick lit book. I loved it.
Couldn't put it down...very fun book!
Another great read by ms.kinsella
I really enjoyed this book, a bit more than the Shopaholic books which usually get to be just a bit too much eventually. I liked the character, and thought that she truly did grow throughout the novel. Great, fast read.
fun, fast read.
This book kept be hooked from the beginning - I never wanted to put it down. I was surprised to find how much I liked it and I actually loved the ending.
I haven't read a book by SK that I didn't like. This was no exception. Cute, fun, and quick and easy to delve into! Loved it.
Very good book!
This is the first book I picked up by this author that I was very impressed by it. I had read her first Shopaholic series but couldn't recall it much but this one definitely was difficult to put down, entertaining, and amusing.
This was my first book by this author, I found it light and funny ( not laugh out loud funny, more cute) but I needed a lighter read and it was perfect.
good book
This was a fun quirky read! Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite Chick Lit readers. This book was a selection for my book club as well.
Very funny...fast read..great to take on vacation
This story is very unbelivable but that's what makes it such a great story.Filled with confusion, doubt, and a little bit of mystery it successfully shows the common worries many women have, while also giving the hope that there is a brighter tomorrow if you just keep trying.
This was a great fun book!
I loved this book, it is funny and wonderful. I laughed out loud so many times, my husband thought I was crazy! I recommend The Undomestic Goddess to anyone who wants a good story and a good time!
Love Sophie Kinsella
For all those "Shopaholic" fans; this is a another great book by Sophie Kinsella. It has a great storyline with loads of lovable characters. The Undomestic Goddess is a must read.
I really enjoyed this book. laughed out loud at times. identified with her pre domestic goddess life, unfortunately.
