Cam is a jerk and comes close to losing his love and his unborn son. But, he does wise up and has to grovel and there is a happy ending. Maya Banks has a great way with words.

I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this book since it started out with a totally unemotional sex scene, but the story soon moved to feelings. There was such depth of emotion in the rest of the book, that the beginning ended up fitting. Pippa was a strong determined woman without being abnoxious with it. Still think book 2, Ryan and Kelly story was the best.

What's not to like about this little gem? There's an independent woman and a brooding hero who not only does everything to avoid falling in love but says and does some hurtful things that really kick up the angst for Pippa. But she holds her own because even while suffering through terrible hurt, she didn't allow herself to be railroaded by Cam. She didn't intend to make him grovel as she is ready to write him off, but Cam does a very good job of it to get her back. When I can feel the strong emotions flying about, it becomes a memorable story to me. I thought it was all beautifully done. Next to all the other couples in this series, theirs was the best love story with Ryan and Kelly coming in a close second. Four stars.
