This book is unusual in that it is set in about 24 hrs, with scenes which go back in time. For some it made the present time seem to last forever, but I felt that she crossed time periods seamlessly and that it was interesting partially due to being an unusual way to set a story. Book deals with youthful indiscretions and how they may affect ones adult life. Present day husband is perhaps too good to be true, but also serves as a mirror directed toward a past lover.

Clare Moorhouse, the American wife of a high-ranking diplomat in Paris, plans an official dinner crucial to her husband's advancement in his career, perhaps being assigned to Ireland. The unexpected arrival of her son from boarding school, complicates her day, as well as the encounter with a Turkish man, a suspected as a terrorist. Clare's past experience evolves as a secret she keeps to herself. Clare thinks she is seeing the visions of the man, at various times while living in Paris; a man who was supposedly dead. The man was one she never expected to ever see again. This book is a little mystery, past and present loves of Clare... A great read.
