When it comes to delivering sexy AND sensual romance, Lori Foster is in a class by herself. Too bad it's middle school. Written at a seventh grade level.

When Eli Conner's wanna-be photojournalist brother, Jeremy, is kidnapped by Central American guerillas, Eli seeks a mercenary who can go into the treacherous jungles and rescue his younger sibling. Ray Vereker answers the call. Ray is tough, courageous, muscular, and female. After watching her win a bar fight, Eli agrees to let Ray save Jeremy--providing he comes along, but the rescue is infinitely easier for Ray than the aftermath of her adventure. A night of wild passion with Eli in the jungle has left her pregnant. An alpha woman with no domestic or maternal skills, a wealthy businessman with a mysterious background, and a most unappreciative rescued hostage give this book a distinctive flavor. In fact, Foster has created a dazzingly unique heroine, and readers will cheer as Ray fearlessly saves herself--and everyone else--from dangerous situations. Known for her funny, sexy writing, Foster doesn't hesitate to turn up the heat, and readers who like sensual romances and novels by Thea Devine, Vicki Lewis Thompson, and Susan Johnson will go for this winning mix of feminism and erotica.

Ray Vereker is certainly not the person Eli Conners expected when he hired a mercenary to rescue his kidnapped brother, mostly because Ray Vereker is a woman--a very sexy woman. Despite her feminine looks, Ray is excellent at her job and one of the toughest mercenaries in the business, but her attraction to Eli causes her to lose all control, and they are soon involved in a very steamy affair. When Ray discovers that she's pregnant with Eli's child she must decide how to handle such an unexpected development.

Another super tough, smart, stuborn heroine meets up with a self-made amn with a soft core. Lots of action, some steamy scenes. I felt less connection for the couple than some of her books. Fun and worth your time.

A pregnant retrieval/spy? Who'd ever thought? This book proves everyone wrong about women. They can be tough, intelligent and sexy at the same time.

Eli Connors hires mercenary Ray Vereker to rescue his younger brother held prisoner in Central America. Ray is fierce but emotionally damaged by a previous relationship so she's overly protective of herself. She is abrupt, brash and standoffish but that certainly doesn't keep Eli from falling for her. I liked Eli immediately and was glad of the way he stood up to Ray regardless of her attempts at shutting him down. Eli was relentless in his pursuit of her and no matter how she protested, she loved it. Lori Foster never disappoints.

Book Descrption

In this deliciously erotic novel, bestselling author Lori Foster creates an unforgettable heroine in Ray Vereker, a female Rambo with quick reflexes, sharp instincts, a hot body, and a bad case of morning sickness

Oh, Yes

This was not what Eli Conners had expected. With a name like Ray Vereker, the mercenary hed hired to rescue his irresponsible brother should have been a tank of a guy with forty tattoos and a prison record. But the gorgeous, delicate creature demonstrating her considerable karate skillson an unfortunate bar troll who just grabbed her below the black beltis all woman and all business. While Eli certainly needs Rays help, he thinks she could use a little of what hes offeringa down-and-dirty, body-scorching passion of the forever kind

Oh, No

Rays as good as any man when it comes to storming enemy compounds and loading an AK-47. What shes not prepared for is the way Elis strong, masculine sensuality and gentle touch leave her shaken and stirred. And really, who could blame a girl for succumbing to temptation (unbelievable, mind-blowing temptation) in the steamy jungle? But now its back to business. If only Elis presence didnt have her feeling hot, bothered, dizzy, and just a little bit, well, queasy

Oh, Baby

The last thing either of these unlikely lovers expects is to be expecting. Suddenly, Rays precise, no-nonsense mission is veering wildly off course, derailed by raging hormones, out-of-control desire, and a delirious love that is completely unexpected

Storyline and characters are disappointing. Heroine's reputation as an experienced, âRambo-likeâ mercenary is misrepresented. Her talk doesn't match her walk. Within 24 hours of meeting a wealthy, male client, she struggles between her lust for him and trying to stay focused on the rescue mission. The victim, the client's brother, has an unrealistic, cavalier attitude for a person being held hostage by guerrillas in Central America. The whole thing is unbelievable and ridiculous. I wish I could get my credit back.
