Greg Braxton rescues Lucky, a victim of amnesia, from a horrible car accident. Together, they must figure out her identity and what she was doing in the car that went over a cliff. Intriguing mystery, nice romance- Sawyer doing what she does best.

The story of a woman with an unremembered past - and a future hanging in the balance. She remembered nothing about her life. Not the raging storm that sent her car over a cliff in Maui, Not the searingly seductive words she spoke to Greg Braxton when he rescued her. Not even her own face in the mirror. Great book.
very good
This book, besides being a great romantic suspense tale, is a short travelogue of the backside of Hawaii--the places where the people who live there work, live, play and avoid. It tells of the highlands (I think that is what they called it) of Maui, where the terrain and lifestyle is compared to Tennessee. There is a great depiction of a marine research and rescue facility, where a lot of the story takes place.
The heroine has a head injury that has permanently damaged her memory of her life. She was found in a ravine by a Search and Rescue team, Greg and Dodger, and arrested for stealing the car she was found in.
Calling her Lucky because she can't remember her name and she was found by accident, Greg can't leave her in jail, posts bond and takes her home with him. Lucky works at building a new life while attempting to contact anyone who might have known her before. Then the twists and turns begin...

I loved this book. I'm still debating on whether or not to make it one of my keepers.
As Greg Braxton and his dog, Dodger, train in search and rescue techniques, they find a car at the bottom of a cliff. Inside the woman has a head injury and is suffering from amnesia. She doesn't remember her name nor recognize her face. Greg nicknames her "Lucky" since she is lucky be alive.
The police do not believe that she has amnesia. When the car she wrecked turns out to be stolen, Lucky knows she may end up in jail if she doesn't come up with an explanation for her behavior. As Lucky and Greg work together to discover the answers to her past, someone is watching closely to assure that her memory doesn't return.
This is an entertaining romantic suspense story with a lot of twists and turns. I probably would have rated it higher except for the TSTL moments by the heroine near the end of the book. My rating: 4 Stars.

From Publishers Weekly
As part of the Maui Search and Rescue team, Greg Braxton is in a remote area training his dog Dodger for the test he must take to be certified as a disaster dog. In the midst of his trials, Dodger discovers that a car has gone off the road and down a ravine. Miraculously, the person in the car is still alive. Greg carries what appears to be an unconscious hooker back to his campsite and discovers that her only injury seems to be a cut on the back of her head. Sensing something strange about the whole scenario, Greg is determined to get her to a hospital and be rid of her as soon as possible. Although some of the plot twists are predictable (Greg's unexpected companion hasn't a clue to her own identity), this is still one of Sawyer's best efforts. She cleverly weaves mystery with romance and manages the tough trick of keeping both tensions going until the end.
