If you are a fan of Laura Griffin's Tracer series then you will love this book. If not, don't worry, this book reads great as a stand alone. In fact I have not read her other two tracer books, Untraceable and Unspeakable and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The two main characters have obviously met once before but didn't quite connect. In Unforgivable, they are the main characters.

After saying the above you would think I'm setting you up for a total romance book. Well, if that is what you are looking for you might be disappointed. Oh, yes, there is tension in terms of sexual and romantic you would expect, but the main story is a mystery that needs to be solved so Mia and her family can continue to live without fear of a madman gunning them down. The twists and turn in this book make it interesting and while you are trying to figure out who the killer is, you are also enjoying the relationship between Ric and Mia (even though I wanted to kick Ric in the butt a couple of times). I also really liked the character of Mia. She sort of reminded me of Abby in NCIS. Not her quirky side, but her professional side. One who works until things are solved with a keen intelligence.

I give this book 4 1/2 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed Mia as a heroine. I recommend this book to those that like a fast paced murder mystery with a bit of romance thrown in.

Hmm...so I've been trying to decide what to rate this one, as I think it falls somewhere around the 3.5 star mark....It's well written, but I have to say I spent a good long while not liking the Hero...like really, really not liking him. So much so that I put this book down for months before finally picking it up again....(I started it relatively soon after it came out, Dec 2010, and didn't pick it up again til the end of May, 2011)

Well, I liked the suspense aspect of the novel...it wasn't the best I'd ever read, but it as pretty enjoyable, overall. I wasn't ever on the edge of my seat, and I wasn't really interested in who the bad guy was, ...note the less, that part of the book didn't bother me.

But not liking the Hero (who IMO, comes off as a jerk for a good part of the book) made it pretty hard to like the romance aspect of the book...

We seem to get more from the heroines point of view, than his...so it's easy to like Mia, out heroine, but, and I"ll freely admit, the break I took from reading this could be effecting my memory, we learn very little about Ric, said Hero. We only get bits and pieces of his history, and as Mia says he's not a talker....so not really being able to get into his head, and not being able to understand why he is the way he is, (despite a few general details) I can't help but think Mia could do better that Ric, that she's settling...and settling for second (or even third) place, has no place in a romance....

So, so far I'll say this is my least favorite of her Tracers books, but I've like all of Ms Griffins other books, so I'm still looking forward to Snapped, the next book in the series.

Forensic expert Mia Voss is carjacked while leaving a convenience store and almost killed when she tries to escape. Soon there is a threat against her family and her life is once again in danger. Detective Ric Santos leads the investigation. Mia and Ric know each other from working on some of his cases. Mia believed he was interested in her, but he never called. Now Mia and Ric are working together on some cold cases that may lead them to the person who now wants her dead.

This book started out with a bang, but I was bored after 100 pages. I enjoyed some portions of the story, but some of it just dragged. The romance was ho-hum. I didn't care if Mia and Ric ended up together or not. The pace of the story did pick up toward the end. I liked the ending, even though I figured out the villain. My rating: 3 Stars.

I thought this was the BEST out of her first 3 books in the "TRACERS" series.

I should've paid more attention when I received this book that is referred to it as a 'romance/suspense' and that would've told me 'yuck'--I don't like romances at all most of them are just sappy, but I started this one without knowing that, it only took me less than 100 pages to realize it way too long and the story moved too slow and when you have an 'event' that sorta starts the book then it just stops and you're getting nowhere page after page and it just turns boring then it's time to quit--which I did!
