Unforgotten checks all the boxes and few more: romance, suspense, healing forgiveness and more. The author beautifully addresses the issues and aftermath of assault and PTSD.
I like that the story gave the perceptions of an Amish (Bethanne) and English (Candance). The descriptions of each girl's thoughts and emotions were so vivid and real. Though two totally different people with different backgrounds, the story showed fear, emotional and mental challenges from trauma have a common thread.
Bethanne's courage to choose to move ahead and allow herself to heal showed great strength. I admired her that in a very dangerous moment her loyalty and love for her cousin Candance overcame her own fears.
I admit some of the moments were so intense I had to put the book down and take a break but it was an amazing read!
