Yes, there are 50 stories of unusual friendships within the animal kingdom, each of them just a page or two describing how it happened, with a picture or two to go along with it. Because it is written very matter-of-fact-ly, it will take you half an hour to an hour to read the whole book. Don't expect any great revelations or emtional stories - the style of writing won't support it.

LOVED it! It is short and sweet. There have been shows about these friendships on PBS stations. The photos were loving and sweet.
