Of the three I've read so far, I enjoyed this one the most, despite the inclusion of the "national conspiracy" our hero inadvertently derails. Perhaps it is because the male protagonist actually calls the police (several times) when crimes are committed. In the previous novels, even when he realizes someone is trying to kill him or others, he doesn't think he needs police help. As such, it is a wonder he lived long enough to be in a third novel.
