This book drew me in with the first chapter and I was instantly hooked. Unfortunately, that changed really fast. From there on, the book felt like a drag. It's told from more than one perspective, which I liked about it, but I felt as though some of the characters would ramble about issues that swayed me away from what I really wanted to know. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say it's about an abusive man, but we never hear the story told from his wife's perspective. I think that would have given us a much better revealing of the main character. We do not get this so for that, and the fact that I felt like the book dragged on without going anywhere, I'd only give it one star.
