Excellent continuation of the Will Trent series, with many tie-ins to the Grant County series (Sara, Lena, Jeffrey). I think the fact that I had read all of the Grant County series really enhanced the enjoyment of this book, since I was very familiar with the characters and their history. Had me engrossed from the first page.
I skimmed through some of the pages and I don't care too much about the main characters, even though I read all the previous books. Sometimes Will is a wuss and Sarah still lives in the past, Even though she loves Will, she still blames Lena for her late husband Jeffrey's death since she was his partner and put him at risk. The book is very suspenseful about three quarters in, and it ended satisfactorily. It's still worth a read for those who like thrillers and I'm sure I will continue to read the series.
This is one of my favorite books in one of my favorite series. It was very suspenseful - if I did not have a job I would have read it in one sitting! Lena is back!
Really enjoyed this one......next one looks great, too!
Agent Will Trent is undercover trying to discover the identity of a Big Whitey, the head of an organization that deals with drugs and prostitution. Will is posing as an ex-con named Bill Black and trying to infiltrate the drug scene in Macon, Georgia. Will is keeping all of this information a secret from his girlfriend, Sara Linton, and she is not happy that he is keeping secrets. But Sara has other problems to deal with. Her stepson Jared has been shot when his home was invaded. He is in ICU and may not survive. Sara blames Lena Adams, Jared's wife, for the situation. She knows every time there is trouble, Lena is right around the corner.
This is an excellent addition to Karin Slaughter's Will Trent series. I loved the story, I loved how the two cases came together, and I loved the characters. My rating: 5 Stars.

Couldn't put it down!

This book kept me glued to my earphones. It's another great read from Karin Slaughter who keeps you interested to the very end with her excellent plots and unique characters. This is the last book that has been written in the seres and I anxiously await the next installment.
