The title of the book for which Paul D. Parkinson collected, edited, and (in many cases) wrote stories is "Unselfish: Love Thy Neighbor as Thy Selfie" The word Selfie imposes a modern twist on a familiar Biblical quote. The stories within, while having nothing to do with the word "selfie", DO have modern tales of people assisting their fellow human beings.
Some of the tales describe people who start and/or run organizations to provide significant levels of assistance to groups of people with particular needs. Other tales tell of ordinary people who perform a simple act of kindness for another. All are presented as people that do things within their grasp that provide a good deed for others.
It's worth a read.
RATING: 4 1/2 stars, rounded up to 5 stars. It left a lasting impression.

Timeless short stories of ordinary people giving generously
Mr. Parkinson compiled 99 inspirational vignettes of individuals who impacted the lives of others through their unselfish giving. All of the snippets were only one or two pages and included a photo. The book could be used similar to a devotional book by reading one short story each day. However you choose to read them, they will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you think. Hopefully, they will also inspire and challenge you to make a difference and give unselfishly to those around you. If you don't have ideas of where or how to start, you can get some great thoughts here.
