I like this book a lot. As in all books, you're going to find things that are silly, possibly cheesy, definitely groan worthy. This book has one or two but for the most part - a terrific read! I love the French & Indian War setting. 2nd in a trilogy of brothers MacKinnon, this is Morgan's story. Morgan to me is the star of this book.

Pamela Clare is by far one of the brightest stars in the romance firmament. Every single thing a reader could want is contained in each one of her books, and "Untamed" is the perfect example.
Do you like realistic historical? Clare envelopes true, sometimes gritty historical facts, events and people in a fictional story so deftly that one doesn't even realize there is learning taking place. Do you like strong characters that stay true to the nature written? Her characters are some of the most superbly crafted, well fleshed out and completely real people in literature of any genre. How about nail biting suspense? It comes in spades, the edge of your seat, can't put down until it's over kind. Are you one who likes the romance hot and steamy? Clare's scenes burn right off the page but with the (hallelujah!) added bonus of real love and emotions propelling them. The relationships are honest, deep and richly loving. Even the bad guys are written so well you understand them, even as you are hating them. See? Perfection through and through. Every reader may have preferences - likes or dislikes concerning what they look for in a story (ie: the steam factor is a little strong for my personal comfort zone) but there isn't a reader alive that won't find a whole lot to love about "Untamed" and the MacKinnon Ranger series.

Thoroughly enjoyed both the first and second book in this trilogy. Can't wait for the third! Liked the theme of Scottish Rangers in early America fighting alongside Native Americans. Characters were well-developed.
Love, love, loved this book!
Loved it. Full of history, suspense, and great relationships.
Fantastic~! New & Fresh story. Loved the characters! Pamela Clare is amazing!
It is important to read these books in order; they build upon each other. Morgan has become the leader of the Rangers now that Iain has been excused from British service. Morgan is seriously injured during a skirmish with the French. His captors try to save Morgan's life so they can interrogate him and then turn him over to the Indian tribe that wants to burn him alive.
One adventure follows another with little break in the action. I liked this one better than the first book.

In the breathtaking tradition of The Last of the Mohicans...MacKinnon's Rangers
They were a band of brothers, their loyalty to one another forged by hardship and battle, the bond between these Highland warriors, rugged colonials, and fierce Native Americans stronger than even blood ties.
Though forced to fight for the hated British, Morgan MacKinnon would no more betray the men he leads than slit his own throat--not even when he was captured by the French and threatened with an agonizing death by fire at the hands of their Abenaki allies. Only the look of innocent longing in the eyes of a convent-bred French lass could make him question his vow to escape and return to the Rangers. And soon the sweet passion he awoke in Amalie had him cursing the war that forced him to choose between upholding his honor and pledging his love.

This book was an unexpected surprise, I loved it!
Excellent! Can't wait to read the others.
The MacKinnon Rangers are a one of a kind band of brothers. I love Pamela Clare's style and I enjoyed this series.
Love this series. The MacKinnon brothers are charming exceptional warriors. The history lesson is low key but fascinating. All characters have spirit.
