Alexander Lovell has made a career out of helping people disappear in order to start a new life. Her client, Melanie Bess, needed her help to escape her abusive husband who happens to be a cop. But now Melanie has disappeared for real and Alex begins to believe that Melanie's husband may have caught up with her. Looking for help, Alex approaches homicide detective Nathan Devereaux. Nathan is skeptical about Melanie's disappearance, guessing Melanie just doesn't want to pay Alex the money she owes her. But as Alex and Nathan dig into the disappearance, with the help of forensic scientists known as the Tracers, they see that things are not what they seem.
This is the first book in Laura Griffin's Tracers series. I thought the suspense story was interesting, but thought the romance portion of the story was lacking. One of the problems was Alex and Nathan had been introduced in a previous series. There were several instances where past events were referred to, but never really explained. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and had a few twists to it.
I really enjoyed this book. It has the right amount of action romance and mystery. I have read several other books in the 'Tracers' series and they are all good.
great
This is the first I've read from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. It did have some "first-book-of-a-series-itis" in that you get quite a few characters thrown at you to set up the upcoming books but it had a "bag guy(s)" twist at the end I didn't see coming. Good enough for me to go for book 2 to read more about the other characters.
good book
