Great story with characters you could love! Ash knew almost immediately that Maggie was "the one" for him. And he didn't waiver--not even once. Ash was a strong and caring man who understood himself. Although his limitations caused him much shame, he knew his instinct was his strength. His loyalty toward his brothers was humbling. His love for Margaret was swoon-worthy. Now Margaret was a woman torn between loyalties to Ash and her brothers. There didn't seem to be a good solution to their unique situation, but her final realizations, although painful to experience, were triumphant. Beautiful characters, romantic tale, and (so far) a fabulous series (I read the second one first). 4.5 stars.

Enjoyed the book. This has been my favorite so far of this author's. Enjoyed the secondary character Mark Turner's dry whit however I wish we had a little more on Smite Turner. I think Margaret's character showed how much women were deemed "worthless" in this era by some men, however I did have a little hard time with how fast Ash Turner fell for her, etc. Wish we had a little more character development on Edmund, hopefully we will here more of his story in the next book since his history was more with Mark. Looking forward to the next book. I hope eventually Richard will also have a story even though he isn't a Turner.

Best Courtney Milan book yet! I loved it.
The plot is not as original as the other 2 about the Turner brothers, but it's Milan's excellent writing and honorable and swoon-worthy heroes that lift her books above 99% of the other historical romances out there.
I am editing this review because when I wrote it, it was the best thing I thought she had yet written. Having read "Unraveled" since then, I think it's a tie between those 2 books.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact I liked it so much I found the other books in the series and read them and am looking for other books by this author.

I ordered this book because I had read the next book in the series, Unclaimed, and loved it. Like that book, this one was very well written. She has a real talent for conveying the emotions of complex people, without resorting to a lot of gratuitous sex scenes. I highly recommend both books. (Read them in order; they make more sense that way).

Courtney Milan is quickly becoming an all-time favorite HR author for me and "Unveiled" is the perfect example as to why. The characters of Ash Turner and Lady Margaret are two of the most endearing, yet believable, honorable yet torn characters on page today. The story is engaging with twists and turns one never expects - especially the big one at the end! The only glitch for me was the "from the moment he saw her he knew he would seduce her" aspect.. it just didn't fit with his otherwise sigh-worthy, clutch the book and fan the face characterization. The type of man Ash was would not be so blase' about ruining a young woman whether nurse or aristocrat. With that exception, this story is the stuff romance is made of and the reason people gobble it up!
Wonderful, touching read. Both characters were just perfect for each other.
Courtney Milan is the best writer ever. Read all her books. You won't be disappointed!
Excellent read. Could not put it down. Can't wait for the next Turner story.
