A decent book, but definitely not one of Kenyon's best. I found it very predictable. It was extremely short with very large print. Is she running out of ideas? Or maybe she just didn't have the time/energy for this story...

I did not get into this book until the end of it. I am normally the first person done with her books when it was released and this one took me weeks to read because it was just plain bad. It got better as it went, but the story plot just plain sucked. It was very predictable, and was a very short book with large print to make it appear longer. Out of five stars I give it 2.

Kenyon's recent Dream-Hunter series is... okay. I was surprised to find, each time, how thin the book was (not many pages and large font- and these weren't even the Large Print editions). The plots were so-so, predictable at times. It seemed, almost, as if these were meant to be short-stories; plots move swiftly and neatly, as short-stories do, with not a whole lot of substance. I think my money would have been better spent if the first three had just been put into one novel. I felt that the characters weren't always developed enough and could hardly believe that they'd fall in love so quickly.
However, I always enjoy Kenyon's incorporation of Greek mythology and the unique character names. The plots do start out well enough; I just think they could be better elaborated upon.

Extremely large print and thin book made me wonder about this book. Is Kenyon running out of stories? Very predictable and kinda boring. I was disappointed.

This is by far the WORST Sherrilyn Kenyon book. I was so disappointed. The font was huge and there was not much meat to this book. The story was really contrived. The romance between the characters forced (and I'm not that picky when it comes to these books). There was nothing revealed here that lends itself to the bigger Dream Hunter/Dark Hunter stories so its safe to skip. SKIP THIS BOOK.

Aidan O'Conner is a world-renowned celebrity who has secluded himself from the world and from his fans. He is still reeling from the betrayals he suffered at the hands of his brother, his fiance, and his friends. His brother, who is in prison for trying to kill Aidan, summons the god of pain to break him out of prison and kill his brother for him. Leta is a dream-god ... she was the last one to imprison the god of pain, and only she can defeat him again. She shows up at Aidan's door to protect him. The trouble is that Aidan doesn't trust anyone.
This book wasn't up to the standards you expect from this author. You don't get a real feel for the characters, there is no chemistry between the two lead characters ... I was disappointed in it.

This book just made me feel grumpy and negative. Not that it was poorly written or anything. It is just that story emphasizes how even if you are a good person, there never lacks for others that will hurt you just because they can. The moral of the story (and this one felt preachy to me) was to not let that ruin you or how you treat others.

Wow. This book was just a wreck. Everything seem contrived and lacked any emotional development. I believed nothing. The whole history of Aidan and who has betrayed him and all that, was just laughable. And with Leta.. I felt like I should have felt something about her whole family issues, but I just couldn't muster up the concern.
I had high hopes since I thought Devil May Cry seemed to indicate SK was back on her game, but this makes me think twice about purchasing any of her future books. Unless someone gives 'em to me or I found some cheap used copies.

I have to say that I am a bit let down with this book. As a fan of the dark hunter series I was hoping to continue my reading with her dream hunter series but this is my third book and I am still finding the storyline shallow and character development lacking the appeal the dark hunter novel characters have. In summary, I wont be reading anymore dream hunter books. Though I recommend giving them a try especially if you are already a fan of Kenyon's work.

The first in this series I really didn't care for. Maybe because the series is in itself so complex and involved that making a novella (or what seems to be a novella, it was very large type, 200 some pages) just doesn't allow it the time to work. The characters were based on one dimensional stereotypes and the quick build-up left no time for depth, ending up merely melodramatic. Hmmph.

I'm just getting into Sherrilyn Kenyon and generally love her books. This one wasn't quite as good, it was shorter and the plot less developed. However, I've read book 3 in the Dream Hunter series and it was as good as the first. Don't know what happened on this one.

Overall, this was a good story. I read it in one sitting - it was kind of short. I don't think that it needed its own book - it would have made a wonderful novella or even a short story. The characters were okay, but I did not have as much of a connection to the characters as I usually do in Kenyon's books. I am sure that the characters that were introduced in this book will come back out to play in future books, so that makes it worth reading.

I didn't care for this one at all. Predictable and not well thought out. Flimsy back story and sappy ending. I love her Dark Hunter series, this seems lacking by comparison
I don't know what this was. Kenyon says its a breather from her other world...it was an OK story...there really was no lead up to the sex...I felt like it was just there and there really was no suspense...I didn't believe for a minute that the heroes wouldn't win. Overall just OK.

I enjoyed this book and I'm glad I read it. That being said, I've found the first two books in the Dream-Hunter series to lack the emotional punch of Ms. Kenyon's Dark-Hunter books, which is ironic when you consider that the Dream-Hunters are supposed to be devoid of human emotion.
I absolutely loved the "Holiday Gatherings" short at the end of this book. It gave us a chance to catch up with characters from other books and hopefully laid the groundwork for future stories. I'm just dying to know how things turn out for Aimee and Fang....

This was the first book of hers I read. It made me go out and get all the rest of her books. I liked the dream hunters series but the dark hunters were still my favorite. If you are a Kenyon fan it is worth the read.

It was a great story but Aiden did nothing but complain and whined. Granted I felt his betrayal but most of the story he complains of the wrongs he was handed by people he trusted and loved but eventually those people did more than turn their backs on him or used him for his fame and money. Leta finds herself facing down the monster that killed her husband and daughter, and with Aiden's help she finally puts the monster down but its Aiden that taken Dolor down and in the process losses a women that opened his heart to love and trust.
