I am not reading this series in order which can affect the ratings of these books.
Overall I enjoyed this one. The banter was in weird places and a little off but still fun. If I was Daniel I don't think I would be able to forgive Conlan and Justice for how prejudice they are towards him.
Serai was a little too much of a "princess" in attitude for me but I grew to like her for her compassion and understanding.
The plotline is a little slower and there is one scene in particular that's written word for word in her next book (Alaric and Quinn's story). That part I didn't care for. I always feel that if you are going to reuse scenes in your books, you should make from a different perspective.
Otherwise it's a decent read. I liked how sometimes the baddies in these series aren't really who they seem to be. I actually think Day writes more interesting bad guys than main characters at times.

Vampire Dnaniel and Atlantis mason Serai met and fell in love when Atlantis was still above the sea. Following a brutal attack on the seven isles they were each told the other was dead. After Atlantis sank to the bottom of the ocean, Serai was put into stasis with other maidens to be future brides for pure blood Atlanteans. Daniel ended up in America where he fought to help save humanity. By a twist of fate the two were reunited.
This story is one of my favorites. Daniel was present in the other books always on the side of the Atlanteans and humans.
Both Daniel and Serai have great power which they need to find one of the seven stones of Poseidon's trident.

I love this series. However, over the last three books, Ms Day has fizzled out. The characters are flat; although the beginning is interesting and full of promise, it falls flat. The plot is slow moving and Daniel and his Serai lack the sparkle and sizzle of the first books. I found myself skipping just to finish. Hopefully Alaric and Quinn will bring this series back to life.
