Took me two/three days to read. I liked this book and I am not a horror vampire book reader. Not much gore in it, more romance. A good book, gentle and romanctic. I like it. My spelling is off tonight forgive me. I must retire too my crypt.

"Women are my weakness. Or to be more accurate, I should say theya re my greatest weakness, for I have many: Travel. Books. Excellent wine. Art. And, formerly, cocaine."

This is a great book about the life and confessions of a man, a vampire. All about his life, loves, and his strangest desires.

Very intersting reading from this type or point of view. Very well written. I enjoyed it immensely.

I really liked this book. Toyed with the idea of keeping it. A little slow at times but I liked the dairy premise. Much less contrived then Anne Rice's vampire personal narrative.

This book started off pretty well. Romkey pulls out major historical figures and has a sort of "what if they were vampires" premise. Our hero meets them throughout the story after he's turned to a vampire. The narration was great through most of the book. The problem was around 2/3 in the book just started dragging (It's the section titled "Rasputin's Tale"). This section completely breaks the flow of the book (possibly because it's narrated by a different character), and although a lot of it is pertinent to the plot and background, it just feels unnecessary. The book picks up at the end, but by then it was already lost on me. It wasn't a bad read, hopefully the other books in the series are paced a little better.

A little different than your usual vampire novel.
