It was pretty interesting to know what happened to the one hand warrior Dougal. This is a fast read for me and has more story to it than the typical "I'm a vampire and you are my mate" kinda of thing. It's nice to have Dougal's past as part of the whole love story. Good book!!!

My favorite out of the Love at Stake series. Made me want to cry at times, because of so much love in the story. True love. Very good story. I recommend!!

Dr. Leah Chin is shocked and scared when her new job at Romatech includes working with vampires and shapeshifters. Dougal Kincaid lost the love of his life over 300 years ago. When Leah walks in the door, Dougal believes his love has returned to him. Now he must convince Leah that vampires will not harm her...and just give him a chance to know her.

This book is the 14th book in the Love at Stake series. Dougal is one of the original vampires introduced in the first book. He finally gets his happily-ever-after in this one. The heroine has a hard time accepting the fact that vampires (and other supernaturals) exist. The story starts out with some funny scenes, but eventually moves into the usual formula for this series. I was a little bored by the middle of the book. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

If you like books that have a heavenly twist to it, you will love this book. Makes you think about past lives and past love life and heavenly reunions.
