Kerrelyn Sparks had me giggling almost non-stop with this story. This book was just so darned good! I was curious to see how the heroine managed to remain a virgin at the age of tweenty four, and I can say I get it. Completely understandable. This book sucked me in from the beginning and would not let me go. The characters, the story, it all just worked so well together giving a perfect amount of humor with mystery and those little moments that make you sigh and wish you were actually the heroine and Robby Mackay would just sweep you off of your feet and protect you from the big bad monster...who by the way seems to like apples.

*sighs* I'm tempted to re-read it again.

Although I agree with JessicaRabbits review, there were a few things that bothered me about Olivia. In two or three situations she SO over reacted, I was embarrassed for her. One time is when Robby found out she was a virgin.

I also appreciate a woman that can kick butt, but it's aggravating when she's being offered protection, and walks away saying I can take care of myself, knowing she cannot in this particular situation. And she did this b/c she was having a hissy-fit. Other than that, I still loved the book, and will probably always continue reading Sparks vampire series.

I loved this book! I read it in day, that's how good it was. The only thing that "bugged" me was how the heroine (Olivia) was overly distrustful of Robbie. I wanted to scream at her sometimes but thats how you know the book is good it really makes you feel something for them...

Recovering from being tortured by the Malcontents, Robby MacKay retreats to a greek island for a much needed rest. He is also planning his revenge. On the island he meets Olivia Sotiris, an FBI agent visiting her grandmother. Olivia has taken a break from work because she is being stalked. A serial killer she helped put behind bars has become obsessed with her, tracking her every move and sending her stuff in the mail. Robby decides to help her discover who his accomplice is. He also wants to get close to her so he can figure out how to tell her that he is actually a vampire.

This is a good addition to Sparks' Love at Stake series. Both the hero and heroine have obstacles to overcome. Olivia is used to feeling the emotions of everyone around her and knows when they are lying. She doesn't understand why she can't read Robby and doesn't know if she can trust him. Robby, must decide if revenge against the Malcontents should rule his life. And, will Olivia accept him when she finds out he is a vampire. My rating: 4 Stars.

Loved it. I really enjoy this series, and enjoyed the interaction of the couple, the grandma, and the friend on the island,as well as the action after she leaves the island (Greece). Well written, as usual. Not a stand alone book tho, I admit I had to think about who some of the characters were as I was reading. Will have to go back and re-read the others I have.
Definitely recommend!

I love Kerrelyn sparks romances. You have a very hot Scottish Vamp in a kilt. That would be Robby MacKay and he's 300 years old. He is recovering on a Greek island, from post-tramaticic stress disorder, due to being tortured by the Malcontents. While he's jogging on the beach he meets Olivia Sotiris, a Greek American FBI agent, who is also recovering from a work related stress disorder. She also has a special power, she can tell when someone is lying, except in the case of Robby. It's love at first sight. Of course they must over come many obstacles, the least of which that he's actually the "undead".

It's like this book was written by a very talented 15 year old. The shallowness of the story, the use of language, the silly love scenes are just kind of juvenile. She does a lot of telling rather than showing. People in love in four pages, no character development, lack of exposition - it's like a draft of a book that will be written later. Kerrelyn Sparks is a popular writer but that doesn't mean the writing is good. It isn't awful but it lacks any depth, romance, or edifying moments.

This book is a great addition to the Love at Stake series. The snap and sizzle of love at first sight is always awesome but is a little weak when faced with adversity. Robby and Olivia actually made an effort to get to know one another, so you could see that they had something worth fighting for, despite Robby's "BIG secret".
