This is a pretty good addition to the series. It is more like the second one than the first, thank goodness. There are quite a few typos in these books and I really think McCray needs to get a better editor.

What I like about this book is that the "good guys" are just as prejudice as the bad guys. It really shows that paranorms working together is still a relatively new thing and that there are still a lot of things to work through. I couldn't blame the vampires for wanting to destroy everyone but I can't quite root for them either. In a way, I like that more. It's not so one-sided.

What I didn't like was that secondary character developed has completely stopped in this book. In the second one, McCray did a good job of keeping secondary characters interesting and that was something I enjoyed. Here they become caricatures. Olivia comes off as only dumb and obnoxious to the point you wonder why Nyx would want to keep her on the team. The same thing goes for everyone else. Even Adam, although he has many scenes, just becomes the "boyfriend," much like Nyx's favorite handbag or something.

It was a fast read though and quite fun. Not a keeper but not bad if you can get a copy from the library or something.

I should also add that if you are a fan of McCray's Magic series you might not like this series. She writes differently, more straight forward and not so flowery. It's also not as kinky.
