Its a mystery that is vanishing into the dark of night and the evidence left behind is more baffling than the crime itself.

Suspense is my guilty pleasure (I think I might have said this before, so this should come at no surprise) and I thought the novels back cover copy would fit the bill (ercraving) quite nicely. A dose of romance against the suspense element had great balance and worked well throughout the entire story.

The best part of this book? We knew who the villain was basically from the very beginning. I know that sounds like it wouldnt have the kick you would expect in a suspenseful novel, but in putting the reader in the villains point of view. Knowing his name and profession and where he was in relation to our hero and heroine put a great edge to the story that I absolutely loved.

The crime of this novel is an odd one and it gave me great curiosity into what makes this villain tick. So often I can feel jipped when Im told at the end of the book why the villain did what he did, but this one took us there. Great element!

Overall I was quite pleased with my latest novel find and have already passed it on for other family members to read.

This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publishers for my copy to review,

Irene Hannon is an author I thoroughly enjoy. She writes a mean suspense story that makes you excited to finish the book. Now I have to say, you know right from the start who the bad guy is in here. But Irene weaves a plot that thickens instead of giving it out right away.

Moira is an investigative reporter who has had her share of trouble. Then one night on her way home she hits someone, swerving off the road and crashing. A night in shining armor comes to her rescue and goes to search for the person she hit. But once he leaves, she blacks out for over an hour, coming to and realizing that he is nowhere to be found and nothing is the way it seemed. When no one believes her story, she goes to Pheonix Inc. and is seen by a PI who happens to be Cal Burke, an ex-homicide detective. At this point the story gets very interesting and I found myself hurrying through the book to figure out why the bad guy did what he did.

You are faced with a lot of curves and turns along the trip as Cal and Moira learn what is being hidden and why they are going to such extreme measures to keep it that way. There is a lot of action and I liked the look into a private investigators life as they followed people, searched for answers and even included a quirky secretary. There is one thing this book brings up about how much you really know about a person and what they are like underneath. Some people look all good on the outside and yet, underneath you never can tell. I also liked the romance between Cal and Moira. It was a gradual build but I liked it. You will also find some old character mentioned such as Cole Taylor. This is probably my favorite book from Irene and I can't wait to read Dev's story!!

Available January 2013 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

Move over Dee Henderson. You shall indeed need to share Romantic Suspense accolades with Irene Hannon. I don't know about her other genre; but, Irene Hannon seems to be a master of the romantic suspense; I have another on order and more on waitlist now.

If you like FBI/PI type mysteries an cases, this is a winner.

This is a well done mystery in the Christian fiction genre. It gripped me right away. I enjoyed the first part better than the last just because the answers became pretty obvious but I still wanted to know how it would play out. I love the characters of the PI firm and I would look forward to reading more of them. For me, there was a bit too much romance for my tastes, however it was a fairly quick and enjoyable read.

Irene Hannon is one of my favorite authors and this book is excellent; a page-turner. Reporter, Moira Harrison is lost, in the dark, in a thunderstorm, when suddenly a figure appears in her headlights. She slams on her brakes - but it is too late and she feels the thump against the side of the car before crashing into a tree on the side of the road. She blacks out and when she comes to, she is all alone, no injured person, and she can't get anyone to believe her story of what happened. If you are an Irene Hannon fan, then you will love this story.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really liked it. The characters were believable and I hope she writes more stories with these characters. Great read and I will read more by this author.
