As one expects from this series, the how-to suggestions are clearly stated and the book is well laid out. Note the appendix that offers the starting and ending dates for frost-free gardening, Phoenix having a 308 day season and Flag 99 days as an example. There are a limited number of drawings and a section with color plates.
There is information speculating on the effects of global warming and a long list of seed sources. Websites, master gardeners, and more are listed.
In the chapter on maintaining your garden, fertilizers are discussed, including how to read the label.
