What a fun book! Bats are attacking New Yorkers! It takes a cop and a bat expert to sort through things, while staying alive through all the bat attacks! Great visual descriptions! Reminded me of the monster movies of the 50's and 60's.... ants, monsters, rats, etc. Great reading for an afternoon!

Interesting read. A horror story about giant bats that attack New York. Good suspense.

This was an exciting book - the bat version of Steve Alten's _Meg_... Giant loose bats killing the people of New York. It was a fast-paced book. I enjoyed it - the characters were pretty good and the plot line was not overly predictable. The very end was a bit ridiculous - unless some sort of sequel is planned. It was written in 1998, so some of the technology was a little dated: the lack of cell-phones, pagers, "E-mail" ... and the dominance of the World Trade Center. The weirdest part is that the back of the book states that it is supposed to be movie soon, and I couldn't find any information about that... they've had over a decade to make it, after all!

Says it is cassettes, but it is a Hardback. Horror story well written--was kinda scary when you think this could really happen. Lots of suspense, held my attention all the way through. I'd read again.

from the back cover:

A boy and his father, on their way home from a Little League game, are violently attacked, much of their flesh devoured..

A large band of homeless people are found murdered in a subway tunnel, their skin mauled with hundreds of small, deep gashes..

A young woman never returns home from work, as she is savagely assaulted in a vacant elevator...

Something is loose on the streets of Manhattan: nesting in the subways, living inside the building walls. Creatures so vicious, so insatiable, so dealdy, it'll take more than a wing and a prayer to stop them--it'll take a miracle.
