I delayed reading this last in series because of some reviewers' distaste for the heroine. I shouldn't have worried. Even though she had her motives for being deliberately deceptive, I found that she wasn't maliciously conniving, which for me made a world of difference in liking Portia Gadstone. I was happy to have a closer look into Viscount Locksley's unconventional upbringing and how it molded his beliefs on romantic love. I usually find that instant attraction leading to almost immediate bed sport is a reality stretch for me, but for Portia and Locksley it worked, and I always appreciate well-detailed love scenes--oh yeah. Heath didn't skimp on emotional scenes, either. (I love it when the hero loses control of his strongest feelings--it's delicious reading.) Even the marquess (Locksley's father) got his happy ending. Good reading all the way around and recommended at 4.5 stars.
