I think this was my least favorite of the series. It was too technical, too many new characters. I missed all the old characters. I just couldn't get into it. After struggling thru about 80 pages, I skipped to the end and read the last 20 pages just to see how it all wrapped up.

What a HUGE dissapointment. Ive been following Abby for quite some time now, and this book just felt off... almost like it was a different writer using Abby and Dutch as their characters. I didnt even make it to 100 pages before I finally put the book down. I wasnt crazy about all the spy mumbo-jumbo and the russian names. There was just too much information shoved in my face in the beginning, it was hard to keep up.
Im not sure what the deal is when series go from paperback into hardcover but Im noticeing this trend with a lot of my favorite series. Seems like once they get published in hardcover, the stories go downhill. This same thing happen with Madelyn Alt and Nancy J Cohen's series. Once they go hardcover, they get thumbs down.
As much as I love Abby, Im still willing to try the 10th book when it releases, with toes and fingers crossed that it will be better than this one was.

This series runs hot and cold for me. Get me a sweater!
As much as I like Abby, this story line was patently ridiculous. The US gov't isn't going to co-opt an agent's fiancee to deep-cover spy work. No way, no how. And to what purpose? Throughout the entire story, Abby almost never used her abilities, and certainly not for the "stated purpose" ... And to add insult to injury, she was incredibly whiny, too! It's almost like the title came first, and the author tried to force a story to fit ... ugh!
If this were book one instead of book ten, I doubt if there would be ten books ...

Wow! Abby and Dutch are undercover to help the government. Lots of action, intrigue and terror. A deviation from the others in the series. Great book! 4.5 stars

This was a fast pace mystery for me. I liked that the story line was a bit different than in the past. Different in a good way. I also like that the charactors are a steady couple. Not off and on like I have read in other books. I think you learn a lot about the author in this book too.
