Absolutely loved this book by Margaret Brownley! What funny and quirky characters. I laughed out loud several times. a great summer read and highly recommended!
Lucy could not stay out of trouble if her life depended on it, her poor father was mortified through most of the book. There were many funny instances and a really cute romance. Highly recommend this entire series and gave it 4 1/2 stars.

I LOVED this book, I loved the intensity between the lead characters. It had a couple overly cheesy spots, but that is what makes her books so funny! I have decided to start keeping my favorite books to read again and I have decided to keep this one. This is #3 and last in a series.

I am sure you all know by now my love of historical books. The time period just seemed so much better back then. And if an author does good research, it makes you feel like you are back there:) I am sure an avid reader knows what I mean by this. So, I was very anxious to review this book. I did receive an ARC copy so I noticed a couple minor, very minor, errors but that is not my main part of the review so I am going to skip those and get right down to what I thought of the book. Are you ready? LOVED IT!! This book is right down the same aisle as her previous books in this series and they are a hoot! Fun yet thought provoking at the same time. You learn even while you are laughing.
I would have to say my favorite character in this book is David. He is struggling with his heritage and his looks but also able to help. I had somewhat of a hard time with Lucy. She kept getting into trouble and sometimes this gets on my nerves. This was not overdone but almost. I realize she wanted to do what she felt called to do so I understand part of her trouble. I also felt for the good doctor. He felt guilty over things in the past and this in turn brought out a low self esteem and lack of excitement about anything, especially women:D
The plot is very good and I like how much research Margaret does. You can tell from reading only a small part of her book her love for history. And the fun, unique aspects she brings up make for good reading. If you are someone who loves to read a historical fiction, this is your book. It was entertaining and witty! Looking forward to Margaret's next book.

What a fun and touching western romp! This is the first book I've read by Margaret Brownley and I can assure it won't be my last. I really enjoyed all the humor scattered throughout the story. Lucy was such a fun character because she was easily relate-able. She was a sweet and warm girl with lots of spunk! I really like that in a heroine. David Wolf was a hero that you just like right away. How he handled Lucy was so enjoyable to watch that there were several parts I went back an re-read. A lot of the story centered around something that happened 20 years earlier and how that not only shaped the lives of those involved but those close to the ones involved. That's really how life is. What we do doesn't affect just us but those close to us. The story also had to do with forgiveness. A great theme and a good reminder that although forgiveness is not always easy we are called to forgive as we have been forgiven. One thing that was really fun were the photography notes from Miss Gertrude Hasslebrink at the top of each chapter. They were a hoot. As I was reading this story I was thinking that this would make a great Hallmark movie. This is the third book in the Rock Creek Romance Series but I didn't feel lost having not read the other two. It does make me want to go back and read the other two though. A thank you goes to the author and Thomas Nelson for the complimentary ARC for my review.
