This book was pretty disappointing. I haven't read all of Nora Roberts' books, but the ones I have I couldn't put down. This book was ok, but there was nothing there that really truly drew me in or interested me. I felt like all the stuff with the wedding planning was filler and there was just too much focus on the main character's job. Overall, this book is ok, but not one of Nora's best.

People like to mention, with every review of a book by Nora Roberts, that the author uses the same plot devices time and time again. And they're right - she does. The thing is, it works!
VISION IN WHITE might be formulaic, in that Ms. Roberts once again uses a group of friends who are as close as family who will all inevitably end up in love with another group of friends (or acquaintances), but I enjoyed the story so much and read it in one sitting.
Ms. Roberts has the unique ability that with every single book she writes (including those written as J.D. Robb), I end up crying at least once. This one is no different - I thought the story of Mac having to deal with her mother was very well-written.
I enjoyed the new "background" of this first book in the quartet, in that it centers around four friends who own a business that covers each and every detail of having a wedding. This book's main character, Mac, is a photographer, and I truly enjoyed reading about her job and how she came to love what she does.
The secondary characters - Parker, Emma, Laurel - were all well-rounded, and I'm highly looking forward to reading each of their stories.
So, okay, it's another typical Nora Roberts read. But I couldn't be happier about that.

Normally, I really like Nora Roberts, especially when she creates a series of books. This one just didn't quite work for me. I found it to be a bit slow and less enthralling than her other books. It was just OK.

I just finished reading this and truly enjoyed it. Since I've read all her books, I found it to be predictable yet still couldn't put it down. I laughed and cried as usual. The romance between Mac and Carter was very sweet.
Wish the second book was out sooner than december, the wait is way too long! The sneak peek of Bed of Roses was a tease.

I'm usually a Nora Roberts fan. But, this book didn't always hold my attention. The premise is good...four good gal friends start up a wedding business called VOWS. One is the baker, another the flower arranger, the third is a photographer and the last is the organizer. This was book one of the "Bride Quartet." I guess we'll take close look into the life of each friend in a different book in the series.
This book was primarily centered around Mackensie...the photographer. I thought the shop talk was a little overdone and had a tendency to slow down the plot from unfolding. Also, I got tired of the abbreviated terms (MOB - Mother of the Bride, etc.) and all the details that we had to endure to get through a wedding that the group had organized. And I haven't even touched on what we had to listen to as far as Mac with her photography supplies, finishing the pics, some of her great pic ideas, etc.
This was supposed to be a love story between Mac and a guy from highschool that had a crush on her. This really didn't have time to develop because of all the other stuff that was going on in the book. I also got tired of hearing about Mac's temper tantrums, snits and outbursts. She definitely wouldn't be on my list of close friends!!
I'm looking forward to the next book, due out in December 2009. My thought is that it can only get better....

If you love Nora like I do- you'll love this book. It was a nice, cute read. Took me less than a day to devour it and now I have to wait until December for the next installment. This was a bit predictable, but I've read so many of her books that it's to be expected. Enjoy.

I couldn't finish this book. Nora took the geek thing too far with the hero. He has a PhD in English, yet he can't even speak in a coherent sentence. That got old and annoying.

I should have known that something called "Bride Quartet" wasn't going to be my thing but it's Nora Roberts so I figured it would be good regardless of all the wedding stuff. Boy was I wrong. Don't get me wrong it had a wonderfully romantic romance between Mac and Carter. She has more luggage than Samsonite and he's a mild mannered English professor. Though there were way too much wedding planning and actual ceremonies and receptions and all the minor little details involved with planning weddings to really enjoy this book, I did like it nonetheless. I really identified with the four ladies: Mac, Parker, Emma and Laurel. I will probably read the next book [book:Bed of Roses|6070950]featuring Emma since I already own it but if it is a wedding fixated as this one, I probably won't continue with the series. I'm not married nor do I want to ever be married and this book surely didn't help change my mind. What a freakin nightmare weddings are!

I really liked this book. It was an easy read, perfect for the beach or snuggling up at home with a book. If you read many of Nora Roberts books you can pretty much tell where its going to end up but it was fun all the same. I'm anxious to read the next one in the series.

One of the worst Nora books ever. I am a hugh fan of hers and will no longer buy her books. Such a shame.....
Hopefully someone else will enjoy this book bacause I sure didn't

Love this story. Its fresh, even though, like other NR books, it follows a group. Really liked the devlopment of the characters. Great read.
Loved it. Loved all four of them. Have passed them on to family and will definitely read them again!!
I don't usually read this type of book, but I completely enjoyed this wonderful book. A very easy read and it totally kept my attention until the end. Total chick lit.
I loved this series and wish there was just one more because I would love to get to enjoy all 4 of the childhood friends and partners' weddings.
I like weddings - other people, not mine. I learned a lot about them, so if you are thinking about getting married, I would recommend all 4 of this series. Photography, flowers, cakes and organization are covered pretty in depth for a fiction series.
These are fun. They characters are great, the couples are real, although perhaps all 4 are too good at their specific talents to be real. The weddings taking place at Vows throughout the series are easily envisioned, and some lovely ideas could be borrowed.
Since these are $16 each in paperback, PBS is the best place to get them. They're easy reading, and I laughed, cried, and smiled a lot during the series.
Maybe someday there will be the final one tied in a bow - the 3 weddings not covered, and even better would be baby showers or perhaps the weddings of the children of these couples. I can wish and I can dream.

This book was captivating the whole way through! I cannot wait until the 2nd book comes out in December. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down...Nora Roberts has outdone herself with this one. A MUST read!!!
Nora Roberts sets a path of direction for the lives of four young women here in the foundational book where one of the young women meets her match.
The details are fresh and vitalizing in every respect. Excellent read! I read it in 2 days. Couldn't set it down.

Wonderful read from the first page! Funny, exciting and just plain great! Four friends in a wedding planning business together makes you wish for their life and friendship! I am looking forward to the rest of this series. This is a beautifully made book. If I collected books this would be a keeper!
Usual Nora Roberts 'mind candy'......pleasant read.
Once I began reading this book I couldn't put it down. This series is bound to be another great on by Nora Roberts. I cannot wait to see who gets married in the next book and how the characters play out.
I liked this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I really have enjoyed the insides of the storyline due to the fact that my daughter was getting married while I was reading this. A feel good book, good storyline and likeable characters. Had some good photography ideas too.
The nerd hero was a little cliched and it felt a little rushed at the end, but all in all it was a fun summer read. I will definately get the rest of the series.
I love this series, and this book is my favorite one.
I give it a five star!
This was a wonderful and easy book to read. The main character had some depth, and I love that this is the first of a four book series, so I'll get to spend more time with the characters I came to like.
Classic Nora Roberts - just enough tension, not too much, not too little.

It was one of her best ones yet can't wait to read the next installment.
Like this book a lot. Can't wait for the next one!
The book was sweet, refreshing and easy to read. Can't wait to read the rest of this series.
A really fun read-Love, a little conflict, learning more than you ever thought you wanted to know about the Wedding business!! Made me wnat to get the next one.
Good book! I'm looking forward to book 2 of the series!
Finally, a book not set anywhere near London and had four great characters that I got easily attached to. This book had a great story line that I just fell in love with. My one reservation to pass this off to friends is the few love scenes got a little hot and heavy. I have never been the girl to pick up those romance novels where the man is half nude on the cover - I know you know what I am talking about. SO my tolerance for CRAZY sexy scenes is a little on the low side. I understand when it really works in the story, but sometimes I am blushing and thinking "YEP, can't pass this onto mom!"
I am off to find out when the rest of this series should be coming out - I can't wait to find out what is coming next for the four girls!

I've heard a lot about Nora Roberts over the years, especially on the Smart Bitches website, mostly of the "ZOMG SO GOOD" variety and after reading this book I just have to say... "HUH?" Not seeing it. AT ALL. The book was beautiful, lovely cover and crisp pages with sweet ridges but the meat of it was incredibly boring. Incredibly. It was more of a how-to with a bare bones romance thrown in as an afterthought. I have no intention of going into the wedding planning business so I could do without all the tips and insider secrets (although the main character could use some of mine when it comes to picture taking - wow!). After about 50 pages I started liberally skimming. I'm pretty confident that I made the right decision.
Somehow I started reading this series of four books at book two. I loved it so much, when I mentioned it to friends, they said I had to read the other three books. Oddly, this book, Book One was the last one I read. The stories are so well written, and enjoyable, I never wanted to put them down. It really doesn't matter which book you read first, because all the stories could stand alone, or come together if you read all four. Vision in White was the story of Mac,the photographer in a job where her and her three friends run a wedding ceremony business. The others are a baker, a wedding planner and a chef. This has a great story of how her mother keeps interfering in her life, a mother that has caused her hurt all her life, and the man she meets, who she has known since high school, and falls in love with.If you love romance novels, you will love this book and the whole series!
Loved this book!
I liked this book and book two they are easy read. The book is not to dirty older teens can read. It is a good story about friendship that most people these days don't know about.
Nora Roberts is one of my all time favorite authors. This book did not disappoint. I can't wait for the next book. I was a little confused at the very beginning but by the 2nd chapter, I was hooked & couldn't put the book down. Four childhood girlfriends grew up playing Wedding Day. Now as adults, they run Vows, their wedding planning business on the family estate of Parker Brown who is the manager of their business. Laurel is the baker, Emma is the florist & Mackensie is the wedding photographer. She captures happy moments in a families life like she never had. Her father walked out when she was a child & remarried quickly. Her mother has married & divorced several times & Mac has a half-brother & a half-sister she rarely sees. Her mother is totally engrossed in herself & expects Mac to finance her whims. Vows reputation has grown during the 5 years in business. Mackensie (Mac) is a well-known wedding photographer with bridal magazine covers to her name. She lives upstairs in the remodeled pool house & has her studio on the first floor. During a wedding consultation, she reconnects with Carter Maguire, a high school mate, who had a crush on her but was too shy to do anything about it. He is an English teacher at the local academy and still in love with Mac. He is totally there for her & it scares the daylights out of her. The 4 friends are totally there for each other & they help Mac through each crisis until she makes a decision about her relationship with Carter.
What an enjoyable book! I've never read a Nora Roberts novel before, so I was very pleased with Vision in White! She gives great details and has very well thought out characters. I can't lie--I had a crush on Carter Maguire by the end of the book! :)
I've loved everything I've ever read by Nora Roberts, and this was no exception. Look forward to the rest of the series.
Loved the whole Bridal series.
A sweet story by Miss Roberts that is very much like her beginning books. Adorable and love filled.
Great book again by Nora Roberts.
Very interesting story line... I like the camraderie of the group of people, and would enjoy following each of their lives.
Another Roberts' winner - loved the book!
I usually like Nora Roberts' books, but I couldn't get into this one at all. It just seemed so very blah and boring that I lost interest and gave up about 3/4 of the way through. Carter, the "hero", was sweet yes, but he struck me as borderline spineless and wimpy, which just didn't appeal to me. All in all, there was too much wedding planning and time spent with the other gals and not enough tension, time, and spark between the hero/heroine. I sincerely hope that the next book is better!
This book was great ..i really enjoyed reading it...but i do also like Nora Roberts books...
A fun, interesting story. Looking forward to book 2 coming out!
Loved it! Great, quick flowing story! I didn't want to put it down.
This was the first Nora Roberts book I have read so I don't have anything to compare it to. It is the first in this series and I really enjoyed it. Theres alot of great ideas if your planning a wedding becuase the story revolves around a wedding planning buisness. I will read the rest of this series.
This book is one of the best. I enjoyed it immensely and can't wait to read the next in the series.
I am big fan of Nora Robert's writing style. Even when I don't love her books I still enjoy them. It was more a case of enjoyment rather than love with this book.
One of my favorite things about Nora Robert's writing is her skill in creating interesting, believable friendships with the characters. I tend to stay away from contemporary books because I always feel like I'm reading about the Twilight Zone. No one seems to cuss, people seem to be naive to the point of stupid or just way too Pollyanna. Who are these people and what world are they living in??? I don't need to relate, but I have to be able to believe. I never find that problem with Nora Roberts. Her characters are not always nice, but I like them that way. It makes them real. Everyone has a bad day and acts cranky now and then.
I loved the relationship between all four friends involved in Vows. They bickered with each other and disagreed. Mac had some moments where she knew she acted horribly and had to apologize to her friends. Truthfully though, that's how real friends are. The interactions between Carter and his friends were just as hilarious though. I loved when Mac found the list that Carter's friend had made for him. It was adorable. I love reading little moments like that.
Now... on to what didn't work for me. Well, the relationship between Carter and Mac was pretty flat for me. I don't feel like I got a good enough picture of why/when they fell in love. I totally got that they liked each other, but I never really felt it cross over to love. That kind of thing is so subjective for the reader though.
Mac grated on my nerves a lot. I thought she needed to grow up and get a reality check. It was really hard for me to read her caving into her mom and feeling like crap about it. It drove me insane. That's not to say that I didn't find it authentic though. I have a friend just like Mac. Watching her act like that drives me insane too.
I felt like the ending was really abrupt. All of a sudden Mac has an epiphany and boom it's over. It just felt wrong.
One thing that I did like though... Obviously I know who the female leads of the next books will be. However, I like how the male leads weren't thrown in your face. I had my suspicions about who would pair with who (which I confirmed when I read the next book) but it wasn't blatant sequel baiting.

This book was terribly boring. There was nothing to draw you in and keep you reading. I've never read any of Nora Roberts other books, but I hope they are better than this one.
I loved this one! It's been 14 years since I got married and 6 years since my youngest was born, and I still got misty eyed at the descriptions of the wedding and pregnancy photography! The friendship between the women is delightful, and I really enjoyed the "nerd" hero. As for complaints of predictability, it is a romance - do you not want them to end up together? If you're looking for the happy ending this has it.
this was a very nice story and a good kick-off to the series.
This is a great start to a new quartet, I cannot wait to read the next boook Bed of Roses. It is nice that there is no hint of paranormal in this new series of stories, just a basic love story. LOVED IT!!!!
It was a very easy and good read. Anyone who wants to read about romance and some sensual drama between friends...and some falling in love with more than one person; appreciate who is right with you from the very start...this book is for you.
i loved this book.... so romantic
Wonderful series!!!
Great book and looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
excellent book
I always enjoy reading Nora Roberts. I liked this book. But it wasn't one of her better series. I do have the next 2 books.
Very good book!!!
love the series!! i love how the books let you go through the romance in their lives with them!! :)
This book was just great. It was lively, interesting and romantic. I half fell in love the the Carter, the "Guy" in the book. He was so sweet but strong. I want a man like that!! LOL...Anyway was a great read and i can't wait to read the next one..
Was a fun read.
Great book!
Have read most of her books and was able to make predictions.Still, it was a good quick read. At the end I was sad because the next books won't be out for awhile.
I really enjoyed this book about balancing your career and having a romantic relationship. It is a fun love story as well as a warm story about women's friendships with one another. I look forward to the second book coming out in December 2009.
Vision in White is Nora Robert's typical romance. As always her books are page turners that cannot be put down. I am looking forward to the next book in the quartet.
Good book
This is the first book in The Bride Quartet series and tells the story of Mackensie "Mac" Abbott and Carter Maguire. Mac is one of four women who run Vows, a wedding planning company.
Wow! This is an exciting new series from Nora Roberts. It showcases four women who have maintained a strong friendship since childhood and now run a wedding planning business together. I finished the first book in short order but now have to wait until the second in the series is published. It's not due out until December.
What can I say it is Nora Roberts. Great introduction to a new series. This time instead of a trilogy, it is a quartet. The heroine is a photographer and the hero not an stong alpha but more realistic. I really enjoyed the book and waiting for the rest of the series.
What else would you expect from Nora Roberts. It's another great book which will lead to a another great Trilogy, I'm sure.
Mac, the wedding photographer and part owner of "Vows", works with her best friends. Her professional life couldn't be going any better, her private life, not so much. That is until she meets, English teacher, Carter Maguire. He's everything she never knew she wanted. Her heart goes all a flutter when he walks in on her almost naked and quickly turns around, just to knock himself head first into a wall. He's mortified to have walked in on his high school crush and more so when he see's she's almost naked. Fortunately for him his mistake just landed him a date with the one person he never thought he could have.
Mack doesn't know what to do when the one person she never knew existed now becomes the one person she can't stop thinking about. She has no experience with relationships but she can't help but want one with Carter. The only problem is, her childhood foundation is rocky at best and with no frame of reference a relationship with Carter frightens scares her.
Carter knows he wants a future with Mac, unfortunately she runs at every hurdle. Fortunately for her he's a patient man he's willing to wait forever for. If only she had the confidence in herself to realize she's worth so much more than she realized she could have.
This story was beautifully written. It has it all... moments that made me laugh, moments that made me angry and moments that made all the trials and tribulations worth it all......

I love Nora Roberts. I collect all her books, so I haven't read this one yet, but I am sure it will be as well written as all her other books.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, and, it was the very 1st Nora Roberts book that I have read. Love the characters and the fact that it is part of a series!
Great.

I enjoyed this book, it is the first of four in the Wedding Quartet by Nora Roberts. The story is about four friends who run a wedding company called Vows. This first book features the photographer. I'm looking forward to the next three books.
