This is not so much a how-to book (though there are quite a few workings explained), but also a historical account of the craft of Voodoo and some Hoodoo in New Orleans during the 1800s and early 1900s. It was a very interesting read with regards to the research done that included witness accounts and articles from the era. There were interesting stories that included revenge, love, bribery and several other cases.

This book is on the subject of voodoo, in New Orleans. Most of the text is devoted to Marie Leveaux's Mother then daughter. Other less notable voodoo queens as well and the study of voodoo in general. Informative. I liked it. My copy was received with light notes in pencil.
