This is the 5th installment of the Elvis Cole, P.I. series. I like it enough to read more of the series. From the cover: L.A. private investigator Elvis Cole is hired by a popular TV star to delve into her past and identify her biological parents who gave her up for adoption. It seems clear cut. But when he gets to Louisiana, he finds that there's something much darker going on. Other people are looking and some are turning up dead. When Cole realizes that his employer knew more than she was telling, this becomes a twisting tale of identity, secrets and murder.

As far as Robert Crais books goes this one is very good. This is in the private eye Elvis Cole series and the action is moving along nicely here. I highly recommend this one.

Voodoo River is one of the best Elvis Cole stories!
An excellent Elvis Cole mystery. This is the book where Elvis meets Lucy Chenier in New Orleans where he goes to investigate whether a TV star's birth mother who gave her up for adoption 36 years ago lives. Of course it's not that simple and Elvis get's tangled up in immigrant trafficking and murder....
Elvis Cole is hired to find a television star's biological parents who gave her up for adoption. He goes to Louisiana and starts searching and of course runs into all kinds of trouble.
This was my first Elvis Cole book and I just loved it. It's written quite well and Elvis is full of fun. Takes place in Louisianna. Watch out for the turtle!
Thouroughly enjoyed. Another Elvis Cole book.
The TENTH book in the series featuring Elvis Cole & Joe Pike, a pair of Hollywood private eyes in Los Angeles, California.

This is a very well plotted mystery involving a TV star, a private adoption, illegal aliens and police corruption. Hell there's a little bit of everything in this one. A few twists and even a few surprises. Heck, there's even a romance involved. Elvis Cole is a rather creative private investigator. I enjoyed this book and will certainly read more by Robert Crais.
I did not finish this book.
as with all the Crais books I have read, this one also keeps you glued to the book to the very end. It is very hard to set it down.
