Many books listed as Science Fiction are heavy on the fiction part and not so interested in the science part. This book is not among them. I wasn't certain how much I would like this book until I got into a few chapters of it and discovered the author using actual physics terms and using them in a way that was understandable while mixing them in with the fiction. Add to this the fact that it is well written, and has great quotes that sound like something someone might actually say and it ends up being a thoroughly enjoyable read, highly recommend!

The sequel to Through the Looking Glass. This volume introduces several new characters and the SSN Nebraska converted to space capability. The ship leaves earth with a crew, a science contingent, their security force and a detachment of Force Recon ( read Space Grunts). The character development is quite good while the plot follows the tried and true "Star Trek or Explorer" theme. Think shake down cruise with new planets and new threats. More than enough beasties and a few "intelligent" apecies along the way. It was a good deal of fun with the occasional Quantum Physics thrown in.
