This book gives the reader a glimpse of two periods that we have never seen before. It shows Spock and Uhura in the time after Kirk was believed killed. It has been more than a year, but many of the former crew members of the Enterprise, now on the science ship Intrepid II commanded by Captain Spock, are still mourning.
We also get to look back to Spock's early years, a friend from that time, and the events that led him to Star Fleet.
This is a well written book, true to the spirit and facts of the original Star Trek and showing the path to the future we also know.
I believe that any friend of Star Trek will enjoy it.
