Comment added 6/8/15 by Dawn C. (ualfadawn):
There are a few I disagree or haven't read...but good list!

Comment added 5/23/15 by Karen J. (rhyta):
I would completely disagree with Tigana being on this list. I think it is a wonderful stand alone fantasy novel. I really love Guy Gavriel Kay's work and have re-read his Fionavar Trilogy multiple times.

Comment added 11/5/14 by Andrew N. - , :
Probably should ditch the sequels and leave it as series or just first book. Having every book in a series listed is unneeded. Definitely agree on Terry Goodkind, found his series very bland and uninspired for a best seller.

Comment added 6/23/14 by Jennifer H. (jenart):
Do votes count if you just happened to watch the movie, because you knew the book was gonna suck?!

Comment added 4/22/14 by Lucille B. (lucibee) - , :
Kite Runner got such good reviews; but frankly I was bored and did not even finish the book! (something I almost never do)

Comment added 1/28/14 by Mary S. (mscottcgp) - , :
I actually cheered when I saw Wicked on the list. Couldn't finish this book. Everyone says the musical is very good, the book ruined it for me

Comment added 11/24/13 by Judy (DimensionX):
I read Slaughter House Five for high school English class. Wish I had picked another book...ANY other book. I didn't even want to finish the book, but had to. My English teacher thought Vonnegut was insane. Hated the book!

Comment added 4/23/13 by lovethybooks - , :
Exceptional list! Twilight & 50 Shades (the first book) are the worse books I ever read. Twilight just put a black mark on the vampire genre. 50 Shades was not worth so much hype.

Comment added 3/14/13 by Margaret T. (megt):
Great list! Luckily I have avoided most of these so I Couln't vote for ones I didn't actually read, but great list.

Comment added 3/1/13 by Holly (Salix67):
Absolutely loathed The Year of Pleasures. Very promising premise, lyrical writing, but story fell apart midway. Main character was intensely dislikable, circumstances unbelievable to say the least, & secondary characters dropped without explaination.

Comment added 3/1/13 by Sianeka - , :
(Couldn't stand my typo!) Wild Animus - the absolute worst book I've ever read. It was given to me, and I still can't believe this drek was a gift! It's available on my bookshelf (as if anyone would willingly subject themselves to this!)

Comment added 2/28/13 by catsandroses:
Totally agree with hating Eat, Pray, Love as well as the Kite Runner -- good additions to the list. I added A Million Little Pieces; just so tedious and annoying. Didn't even finish it.

The Road was far too bleak a book for me and I usually like post-apocalyptic tales.

Comment added 2/28/13 by Whitney (whitneyab) - :
I was COMPLETELY disappointed with Pirate Latitudes. All of Michael Crichton's other books were fantastic. I don't think he really finished it before his death, and it really should never have been published.

Comment added 2/28/13 by Sarah T. (Jeckie):
I agree with Sevenspiders - G.O. is a phenomenal book.

Comment added 2/28/13 by sevenspiders - :
Good Omens is an awesome book!

Comment added 2/28/13 by Lauri E. (Luluette) - , :
I know that so many people loved this book, but as far as I was concerned, "Love in the Time of Cholera" was probably worse than dying of cholera. Horrible characters. Hated them all. Torturous plot. Hideous in every way!

Comment added 2/28/13 by sasssy25 - :
Growing up Lutheran was supposed to be funny, but the most comical thing about it was how bad it was. I should've counted how many times the authors/narrators said in unison, "This is most certainly true." Maybe that would've made it more entertaining.

Comment added 2/27/13 by Michael (MikeBpale):
I hated The Road. It was a book without hope and even at the end it offered little redemption.

Comment added 2/27/13 by Sianeka - , :
Comment deleted 3/1/13 by Sianeka - ,

Comment added 2/27/13 by Adriane S. (myhotstylist):
Me Times three.... Not much for chic lit, but this was my first attempt and it was ruined by this book. Story line was awful and the plot dragged. Found myself more and more depressed as I read on. I never even finished it.

Comment added 2/27/13 by catsandroses:
Added The Night Watch by Sarah Waters. Absolutely LOVED her book Fingersmith, so had high hopes for this one, but was very disappointed in it. Gave up on it after reading 100+ pages; just an awful book.

Comment added 2/27/13 by Bonnie (LoveNE) - , :
Added Auel's disaster...nothing about this book equaled her other Earth Children series. A complete disappointment.

Comment added 2/27/13 by Donna B. (eclecticreader10) - , :
Added Outlnder I thought it would never be over. The story is totally not to be believed. I can deal with the time travel and all but how many times can one woman get herself into situations that require being being rescued by a 'knight in shining armor'?

Comment added 2/27/13 by Mick (zobielover):
I'd read and enjoyed every Dan Brown book before Lost Symbol, and was really looking forward to it. But between a convoluted story and unreal situations, it was a chore to finish. Tell No One read as if it were written by a 3rd grader.

Comment added 2/27/13 by Tiffany K. (tiffanyak) - , :
Added Twilight and Fifty Shades books due to pure bad writing. Even as a fan of the central stories involved, I couldn't stand the writing.
