If a book, any book has this authors name on it, i will read it no matter what it is about. This author has NEVER dissappointed me. His way with words is smooth and he is not preachy for those who do not care for that. His stories are heart felt and beautiful, always leaving you satsified that you read that book and actually wanting more from him. He is a man who can carry a message from God without you knowing you have received it. This novel was wonderful, if you have never read a Richard Paul Evans, try just one, any one, once in your life. You won't be sorry.

I picked this book up after reading a review on this site. I loved it. I couldn't put it down until I finished. This is one of my all time favorites, up there with The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this book. It is a QUICK read - I finished it in a night. The idea of being able to just go walk across the country is very alluring. I like the positiveness of it - there are some really good lessons for everyone in it. It left me with a feeling of hope.

Extraordinary book. Richard Paul Evans writes another tear jerker. It is an easy read about a man who loses everything and then takes a life-changing journey, both physical and spiritual. The book continues to "Walk 2" which will be published in April 2011.

This is a great book I can't wait to finish the next one. It is a story about a man who looses his wife and business almost at the same time and embarks on a journey to find himself.

I enjoy reading books by this author. I was able to read this book quickly due the chapters being short. It is too bad the next book in this series doesn't come out until April of 2011. I will have that book added to my WL.
This book is incredibly touching. I loved it beginning to end.
I was somewhat disappointed by this book. I expected the usual uplifting teary-eyed story from Richard Paul Evans, but instead got a waaaay too detailed travelogue. The idea was great, and could have been very moving, but it just wasn't. There were too many phrases like, "I set down my bag, then walked 2 paces to the window, then took off my shoes. I laid my coat on the bed. I pulled down the covers..." and on and on. (That's my quote btw- not one from the book) Plus, do we really need a detailed list of everything he ate at every single meal? I just can't see myself picking up the second in this series.
Wonderful book. Really enjoyed the read and the inspiration. Just finishing the second one and that also is good. Looking forward to the third.
When all was lost, Alan decided to take a walk..... across the country. The people he met, and the lessons he learned.......... You'll want to read and learn about as well.
Really liked the book. I read it quickly, found it to be an easy read, was pulled into the story, liked the honest emotions, the interesting exchange of ideas. Would recommend and was moved to get the next one when it comes available.
The first of the walk series. I like this guys writing. It reads fast, story is a bit predictable but likeable. Some good life lessons involved. Man looses everything and deceided to walk to Key West from Washington.
My sister suggested it and I finished it in one night! It is easy to follow and look forward to starting book 2!
This was such a sad, sad story. I cannot imagine going though those things and well, wanting to get through it. Alan had a beautiful wife, his own ad company, a nice home and suddenly it was all gone. He decided to go on a walk, a long walk, across the whole continent. He set his sites to a place over 3,000 miles away. As he walked he did a lot of thinking and met some people who gave him more to think about. He doesn't finish his walk by the end of the book because something happened that required him to take a break. The book seems to end abruptly but it is the first in a series. It definitely gives a person plenty flood for thought. I'm glad I finally read it.
Easy read, loved the book! Can't wait to read the rest of the series
I really enjoyed this book and didn't agree with the other reviews that complained of too much detail. The book held my interest and satisfied me at the end. I consider it a good read.
Interesting book
As usual another good book by this author. He is fast becoming one of my favorite writer. A book hard to put down!
This author is one my favorites and The Walk had me hooked from the first chapter. He wrote a total of five books in this series and I have read them all twice and now am listening to them on audio. I never read a book twice but this was an exception. After losing it all, he sets off on a walk from one side of the USA to the other side and it tells of all he encounters on his journey. This is a must read and I think one you open the cover and start reading, it will be so hard to put this book down, Anticipating the next book in the series was so hard because he only put one out every year.
