Great original story that tugs at the heartstrings. Loved Gabe and Nan; two lost individuals who found an anchor in each other along with strength, love, and family. 4 stars.

I liked this book. Some parts of it were great while other parts were SO slow. I would still recommend it though. It's a nice read. :)
Wonderful book of love and redemption!
I love Catherine Anderson's books. I didn't even realize she had a new book out and found this one at store. Oh it was sssssoooooo good. At the start I was hesitant and thought about putting it down. I'm glad I didn't. I laughed and cried (my daughter thought something was seriously wrong cause I was snotting, and red eyed, and tears running). Great start to a new series, but I'm not sure who's next....
What a wonderful story! I'm not fond of fantasy or supernatural plot devices. However, that is before reading this book by Catherine Anderson. Gabe Valance, a traveling gunslinger, is killed Christmas morning in the small town of Random. The angels who meet Gabe tell him that he has not done a good job of his time on Earth.
They offer him an opportunity to return to Random and try to save one of three persons currently residing there. Gabe takes on the problem of Nan, who supposedly killed her suitor and ran away with her sister from New York City. They are hiding in Random as mother and daughter. They are hiding from the law and Nan and Laney's father, who 'gave' Nan to the suitor.
Gabe has only 30 days to turn Nan's life around. This is a fascinating story of how Gabe strips Nan of her defenses and teaches her that there is more to life than the narrow existence she is living.

Catherine Anderson never disapoints. I had read the first three chapters on my Iphone for free. I knew I had to have this book. I laughed and cried and looked into myself as I read this book. I simply loved it.
