Fascinating story of a Feller's travels through the Middle East as he reviews the stories of Genesis and Exodus and his interactions with the people now living in the locations attributed to them.

Both a heart-racing adventure and an uplifting quest. This book describes one man's epic odyssey-by foot, jeep, rowboat and camel-through the greatest stories ever told. From crossing the Red Sea to climbing Mt. Sinai to touching the burning bush, Bruce Feiler's inspiring journey will forever change your views of some of history's most storied events...A wonderful book.

What a great book to read. It puts you into the desert just as the Israelites traveled. I was just in Israel so this had a special appeal to me. Definitely a good read for anyone interested in the Bible.

Although the premise of this book was interesting, I found it very boring and difficult to read. I tried over many months to finish it and finally gave up.

I Loved This Book! If you ever had any questions about where things took place in the Bible and you didn't want to leave your front door, you can travel with Bruce Feiler on his travels in this book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that my be a sceptic about places in the Bible.

A naturally curious, gregarious fellow, Feiler takes us with him and his very knowledgeable guide as they travel and ruminate on what they see. You won't always agree with Feiler but you will be left thinking deeply about what he says. Funny and meditative.
