This book is just fantastic! I loved reading it and hated to see it end. If you have seen "A Christmas Story" you will get even more enjoyment out of it. A definite keeper.

Mr. Shepherd has written a book filled with small-town memories. An easy read, since you can read a "story" at a time. I laughed out loud while reading the one about the fair - been there, done that. The characters are just great and REAL. I highly recommend this.

Great collection of stories including the one that inspired the movie "Christmas Story". Very funny and also touching.

I just finished reading a pretty tragic book and needed to follow up with something a little more upbeat. This definitely fit the bill. As I read this story to myself, I couldnt help but hear Jean Shepherds voice narrate Ralphies recollections of his youth And I couldnt help visualizing the movie versions of Ralphie and his sidekicks, Flick and Schwartz as adolescents. Ralphies stories are sweet and funny A real treat for nostalgic toy, candy, and radio show lovers!
