Absolutely one of the best "pick me up" reads in a long time. Funny and oh so true. Sometimes a little graphic, but this book really will make you feel good when you are done. Worth the point i spent and more. I read it twice just to try and remember some of the lines.

Marie is about to turn 60 years old, and she does not want to join a book club! In fact Marie is all about embracing the senior discounts and saying and doing what ever one wants, because after all they are old and have earned the right. With a grand child on the horizon, Marie just wants to be a granny and enjoy her âoldâ age. Through with romantic entanglements, Marie goes about her life eating, drinking and making merry with her friends; however romance may not be through with her, and sometimes life isn't all sweetness and light.
Light, frothy and fun this is a witty look at aging and both the good and the bad, through the eyes of an acerbic but fun narrator.

I read this book on the eve of my 60th. Although I don't identify with her really the book is entertaining. It is worth a read.

A funny book, very interesting if you like diaries.
I liked the character mostly although her view of life is
alot different from mine, rural vs. British city-dweller.
I would recommend it for a fun read and liked the characters she has for neighbors and friends.

I was hesitant to read this book, having only JUST turned 50 myself. But I'm glad I did. It was a pleasure from cover to cover. In fact? I couldn't wait to steal away each morning before work and read a few more pages.
It became a nice ritual. I'll miss having it in my possession, but it's the kind of book you just can't keep to yourself. Virginia's stories will stick with me. That's reward enough!
