In this book, Kate talks about the challenges they faced in the years they lived in "the house with the red door" that was seen on the first few seasons of Jon & Kate Plus Eight, and she does so focusing on how she and Jon worked together. She also includes letters to each of her children. The letters are personally written to each child, which makes me wonder what the children thought (or will think) of these letters being published. Overall, Kate manages to describe the challenges they faced and the solutions they came up with without falling into the "poor me" syndrome which is so easy with these sorts of books.

I really don't like Kate Gosselin but this book almost made me change my mind. On paper she comes across much more humble, thoughtful and calm. I'm not sure which Kate is the real Kate but I did enjoy seeing this side of her. Lots of touching stories about the kids and some more details about the breakdown of her marriage.
