I haven't read much Louis L'Amour, so I can't compare this to his other fiction. However, these stories seem like they must be "classic" L'Amour. They're sketches of western life that quickly introduce and quickly solve problems of colorful characters that he gets you to care about in just a few pages. I'd say these stories would be good reading for young readers (7th or 8th grade and high school) as well as for adults.
My book has a different cover, but same title. The premier old west storyteller spins a tale of danger for a young miner with a fortune of gold and a lovely lady. Another intriguing tale of survival and trailblazing in the frontier. No old west tale would be complete without breath taking scenery, danger and Indians. This is another great L'Amour classic story by an American classic author.
another great one from Louie
