I really didn't get what all the fuss is about with this story. It's just Russia's version of the war with Napoleon, told from the point of view of the nobility, with a few asides about the abominable conditions for the peasants. It's a soap opera of the Russian nobility. So it's good for sort of a historical fiction of Russia, but why it's so renown I didn't get it.
