"War and Remembrance" is the sequel to "The Winds of War". A slow, long read but well worth it.

Prior to reading "Winds of War", I tended to avoided reading Herman Wouk's epics due to their lengths. What a mistake! "War and Remembrance" is a very well-written story that puts a personal face on World War II...Even though "The Winds of War" and "War and Remembrance" is one coherent story covering over 2000 pages, it never bogs down. It spans events from the lead-up to the end of the war and follows the main characters all over the world. Wouk does a great job of writing from various perspectives. Best read in conjunction with "Winds of War"
