Christine P. (Elyza) reviewed The War Romance of the Salvation Army (Grace Livingston Hill, No 21) on + 5 more book reviews
Tis book was not what I expected. It was more a history of how the Salvation Army was started and their contributions and work during WW1.
Their people has a huge impact on the physical, mental and religious morale of the Soldiers. Where ever they were assigned they brought comfort; both physical and mental and spiritual. They also share the same hardships as the troops. This made them respected by almost everyone.
I only gave it 3 stars as it was heavy reading. Very factual. Not GLH usual christian fiction.
