Warped Factors: A Neurotic's Guide to the Universe (Babylon 5 Omniverse)
Warped Factors A Neurotic's Guide to the Universe - Babylon 5 Omniverse Author:Walter Koenig, Taylor Pub Co In "Warped Factors", original Star Trek star Walter Koenig (a.k.a. Ensign Pavel Chekov) provides a fascinating and often riotous chronicle of his life and career. The red-diaper baby of Russian Jewish parents, Koenig grew up in Manhattan. He offers a fascinating perspective on life in the ethnically diverse New York of the forties and ... more »fifties and shares his angst about being the son of a leftist father during McCarthy's heyday.
Bitten by the acting bug while vacationing with his family at Camp Arrowhead (the American Labor Party's adult retreat), Koenig studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York where he worked with fellow students James Caan, Elizabeth Ashley, and Dabhey Coleman. After stage work and supporting roles on the TV series Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Mr. Novak, Koenig landed the role of Chekov on the original Star Trek series.
"Warped Factors" is packed with Star Trek anecdotes. Koenig writes candidly about his experiences with producers, directors, and fellow actors on both the TV series and movie sets, as well as his adventures on the convention circuit. Recently, Koenig returned to TV winning critical acclaim for his recurring portrayal of Alfred Bester, a sinister telepath, on Babylon 5.
In "Warped Factors", Koenig focuses a Cassandra-esque eye on his own life and neuroses with both tenacious honesty and trenchant wit. The result is an unabashed romp that will thrill both trekkers and boomers alike.« less
