This book was shockingly good. I have never read any of Kevin O'Brien's books before, but now I plan to read them all.

Hannah is on the run from her abusive husband and the law with her young son Guy when she settles in Seattle. She works at a video store and takes a film class at night, in hopes of one day making a living as a film critic. Although most customers at the video store are friendly, those who treat Hannah rudely start turning up dead! Hannah becomes an unwitting participant in a serial killer's game when he starts leaving her clues about how his next murder will be executed. When it becomes clear that she is being stalked Hannah worries that she may become the next victim.

This book reminds me of early Harlan Coben standalone thrillers such as Tell No One, because there are so many twists and turns in the plot. There are a number of red herrings, and I was genuinely surprised at whodunnit afterall. This book is an overlooked gem in the crowded thriller market.

A story that keeps your interest all the way through. Sometimes one may wonder how people get themselves in such predicaments. This kept me reading into the night, past my bedtime, so I could resolve the mystery.
