I listened to this book on audio. It's my 2nd fav Dean Koontz book. I favor Intensity. However, them main character finds a Golden Retriever loose in the open and takes him into his home. A batchelor, he now has friend. As time progresses, he discovers the dog has a very high IQ - for a dog. But, the dog is an experiment that escaped from a genetics lab who want him back. A chase here and there make up most of the story, but the end is satisfying.
