Finally, things are looking up for Fran. She's got a nice flat, a good job at a pizzeria, and is staring in a play adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles. And her detective friend is teaching Fran to drive. But, true to form, good things only last for a while. Something strange is going on at the pizzeria, a young illegal immigrant kid that Fran saw at pizzeria asks Fran to find some person named Max that he swears he saw where she works. Fran says she doesn't know who he could be talking about and then she witnesses the kid being pushed in front of a train and killed. Now she is up against some dangerous men! While I'm personally not as much a fan of Fran as other of Ann Granger's heroines, this book has some twists and turns in it to keep your attention.
